Link's Awakening DX, if you've got a SGB, GB, GBC, or GBA.
If you're only playing on the DS, then get Minish Cap.

Get LA if you can :3 Its more difficult than AlTTP and PH, in my opnion, but it is extremely enjoyable.

Either that or the Oracle games, if you can get ahold of them.

Oracle of ages

Orientate yourself on the Best Handheld Zelda poll, it gives pretty much away, which titles are loved the most.

Link's Awakening and The Minish Cap dominate the poll, so you should go after them. But it's always a good idea to play the games in chronological order, so I would recommend you to play Link's Awakening first, then Oracles and then finally The Minish Cap.

All of the handheld games are worth playing, but if you enjoyed PH, wait for Spirit Tracks.

I very strongly recomend Link's Awakening. If you care more about the graphics, get the DX version, but otherwise hunt down a Black and White copy since the game felt more impressive without color, at least to me.

I mostly recommend Link's Awakening, with Minish Cap in second. Those two were the best, in my opinion. But, that's also just my opinion, it really depends on what you want out of a game.

Minish Cap does have better graphics and is all-around much more colourful, but Link's Awakening has more of an emotional impact and dungeons that require more thinking overall, as well as being more difficult. MC also has more of a connected overworld, whereas LA does sometimes feel a bit more disjointed due to everything being placed on a grid.

To me, LA really is better, although MC is much more colourful and, uhhh, kinda more modern, if that's your thing.

The Minish Cap. It's extremely fun and entertaining. It's my favorite of all Zelda hand held games. It will keep you satisfied and has a great story.

I completely agree with this person.

I couldn't get into MC as much as I could LA...so I'd vote LA. I'm in the middle of the oracles games, so I can't let you know about them.
