Best Handheld Zelda

Which of the Handheld Zelda games is best? Vote here in the poll, and talk about the subject here.

Note that this excludes ports of Zeldas (such as the NES Classics ports) to handheld systems, only Zeldas originally made for a handheld system are included. Four Swords, an original game included in the GBA ALttP port, is also included.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

I really liked Phantom Hourglass and Minish Cap (they're the only handhelds I've played...). Hehe

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

Links Awakening is the best of the ones I've played. LA, Oox, and PH are the one's I've played and it's definatly the best one. Probably one of the best handheld games ever!

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

TMC. I love Minish Cap.
I love birds. Especially those birds who were Picori in fact... And I think Ezlo is better than the fairies in N64 Zelda. He has a kind of humor at last ^^ And Vaati is an absolutely great villain. When I first heared his laugh... I thought "I don't know who is he, but I like this guy". Plus, he's dressed in my favorite color
And I love to fuse Kinstones. It makes you to communicate with the people, you have to work out something together if you have a problem. That's why Kinstones make people happy, I think...

7.

Link's Awakening, with the oracles right after.
I didn't care much for Minish Cap; I thought that the story was rather boring.

I'm going with Link's Awakening DX. It's just a classic. Simple as that.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

All the way man. Link's Awakening was a fun game. Zelda games usually have that extra "oomph" to make them beat any game on any system,"oomph" ftw!..
And LA had it. I mean most Zelda games do, but some just go all the way out and amaze us all.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

I love Link's Awakening the most. I borrowed it from a friend and second playthrough took just one day on two sittings (had to stop and go eat). I wanted the game for myself but there wasn't any on the market, but then my other friend went to Japan fo a vacation and got me the Japanese version of Link's Awakening DX. And two weeks after I got that game our local gameshop got the original version sold there as a used game. Hated that.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

I liked A Link to the Past, but since that's no included, I'm not sure what to pick. I liked PH and TMC about the same, but PH was longer.

However, in TMC I actually had the patience to complete it 100% (get mirror shield, fuse all kinstones, get all heart pieces and heart containers, 99 bombs/arrows, magic boomerang, etc, etc)

Link's Awakening DX. I just liked the dungeon layouts. Though in general, I'm not as fond of handheld Zelda because there's no lock on system and you die a lot more...

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

LA was my first Zelda and was one of my favorites for a very very long time. The Oracles really built upon the experience and made it better, but I'd say Oracle of Ages was more enjoyable (due to harder bosses and dungeons, a more complex story and mini games, going out to sea and meeting the Zoras, and Veran, who is awesome) so I would say OoA is my overall favorite.

Have not got round to playing the other two yet.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

This is a hard decision for me. I know that LA is a better quality game, but I had more fun playing MC (I have a similar debate between OOT and TP). I'm gonna have to go with MC.

Soooo many to choose from!

I say it's a tie between TMC and LA DX.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

I'm gonna go ahead and call myself an idiot for mixing up my vote, I meant Oracle of Ages, not Seasons...

Ages due to the amazingly challenging dungeons and out of dungeon quests, imaginative bosses, and of course the storyline. Took me an almost literal lifetime to figure out the last dungeon's boss (not Black Tower, the one before that, the crypt one), his final form. So simple, I never thought of it. But once I did, I had Veran murdered by my hand within a day

Re: Best Handheld Zelda

TMC, by far. I've played PH and the Oracles as well as a little bit of LA. I couldn't play enough of LA to have a real opinion, but so far it was fun, though I wasn't having quite as much fun as I was at the beginning of TMC, so...

The Oracle games are great, but they just don't match up to TMC's awesomeness. Vaati is my favorite villain and Ezlo is my favorite Zelda character. TMC FTW!
