Can you link Oracles on GBA?

I've been playing through OoS. Once I finish it, I want to beat OoA and do the linked ending. The problem is, I'm playing on a Game Boy Advance. Can the games be linked on two GBA's, or does it have to be two Game Boys?

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

As the linking is just putting a customized password from the end of one game into the start of the next game, yes, you can link them together while playing on a GBA.

Spot on.

And for future reference, I am pretty sure GBA's still have the link input, so if you managed to get your hands on an old school pocket Game Boy connector, you could use that too.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

Once you beat OoS you are given a unique password after the credits roll called 'Labrayna secret'. Simply jot that password down and then go to create a new file on OoA, there should be an option entitled 'secrets'. Select that and enter the password you recieved and lo and behold the game will have created a new file for you which is the linked version of OoA. You will have 4 hearts instead of the usual 3 and you will have the same name which you had for OoS.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

Are you talking about that kind of linking or the linking for Vasu the jeweler. I never got the second one to work but........yea you can continue your game with the password.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

You can link OoS to OoS and OoA to OoA aswell, linking around this way and the normal way is the only way to get an ultimate second quest file (with triforce mark) with all 64 rings.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

I have a silly, slightly off-topic question, should I start with OoA and finish with OoS, or vice versa?

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

I did both, I have one file I started with OoA and finished with OoS and the other way around also. I personally prefer OoS before OoA tho.

Picking up these games after so long I was wondering why only one of my files had a triforce mark on it. :s I have no chance of getting all of the rings tho, but if you name your character the same in all playthroughs, you can get the ring code, punch it in and get every one in each of your files.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

To all the ZU users, I can try showing how to get all rings, read carefully:

1. Start a OoA normal file. I call this OoA-1.
2. Beat it.
3. Use Password to get to OoS. I call this OoS-1.
4. Beat it.
5. Use the Heroes Code or whatever its called, start another OoA file. I Call this OoA-2.
6. Your OoA-2. File will have a Triforce mark.
7. Complete the OoA-2 file, you get another code.
8. Use the Code and start a OoS file, I call this OoS-2.
9. Use passwords between OoA-2 and OoS-2 to get extra rings and secrets etc. Beat the special dungeon in OoS-2 for the ring. Get all rings you can.
10. Now you will have 61 rings if you collect all you CAN collect. You can NOT collect 3 rings. 2 Are from passwords if OoA would be your "highest file" and 1 from special dungeon in OoA, you cannot get these 3 becuase your "ultimate" file is OoS.

Now we have OoS-2 as the imba file. Whats next for the three rings? Listen carefully again:

1. Use your OoS-1 File again and beat it.
2. Get the Code BUT start a new OoS file, we call this OoS-3. Go from OoS-1 to OoS-3 with the Code. It works!
3. Now you have a OoS-3 file with triforce mark BUT this is the "first file".
4. Beat the game and you will get another Code.
5. Use the Code in OoA, creating a file I call OoA-3.
6. Again, get ALL the Rings you CAN get, passwords between OoS-3 and OoA-3 and complete the special dungeon in OoA-3. You will once again end up with 61 rings. The three last ones you cannot get, they require a OoS "ultimate file".

So, what we got now? We got:

One OoS file Continued game with Triforce (highest file possible) with 61 rings.

and

One OoA file Continued game with Triforce (highest file possible) with 61 rings.

That is 2 ultimate files but only with 61 rings. Want 64 on both? Easy.

1. Check your Ring Code from the Red Snake in OoS and in OoA.
2. Write them down.
3. Use the Code from OoA-3 in OoS-2 and link the rings.
4. OMG, you got 64 rings in OoS-2 (your ultimate OoS file).
5. Do the same thing, use the code from OoS-2 in OoA-3 and wow, you got 64 rings in OoA-3, your ultimate OoA file.
6. Now you have one OoS and one OoA file, with highest file status (second game and triforce) and both with 64 rings.
7. This works Because both files comes from the same basic file!
8. Now enjoy!

PS. You don't have to name your files like OoS-2 etc, I just called them that to make it easier for you to see which file I refered to.

Guide by me, Xade!

EDIT:

Added a Paintmade picture to explain more, info first:

- First follow the Red arrows.
- Then follow the Green arrows.
- FG = First Game
- SG = Second Game.
- UF = Ultimate File (You want this).
- The yellow Triforce... is simply a Triforce symbol.

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

Wow Xade, the graph really clears it all up. I only have one question, besides the Victory ring, what else can not be obtained in a single linked game?

Re: Can you link Oracles on GBA?

Well, the 2 Rings from the passwords.

2 Rings from passwords: OoA -> OoS
2 Rings from passwords: OoS -> OoA

So you can only get 2 of them, depending on which game you start with.

Also the ring from the special dungeon, Power Ring Lv3 or Armor Ring Lv3 I think they are called. Power is from OoS and Armor from OoA, so depending on which file you choose you can only get one of these.

So therefore you must link em together like I did in the graph, I forgot to mark in the picture an arrow between OoA 3 and OoS 2.

Ya know that graph would be extremely awesome if it had screenshots or a photo of the GB.

As it is I still think you should place it on a Zelda wiki page. We need more images like that to clear up complications about the OoX linking.
