Should Marin be brought back?

I was thinking it would be cool if Nintendo put Marin in another zelda game (as a seagull of coarse) what are your ideas on the matter?

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

maybe as an easter egg, but the only significance she has ever played is being a supportive NPC in LA and being the basis for Malon.

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

I'm undecided. The problem with bringing her back, is that her place is in a dream. I suppose she could fit in as an easter egg though, thinking about that.

If you beat LA without dieing once you get a secret ending where Marin's wish to the Wind Fish (hey that rhymes) comes true and she turns into a seagull and flys away into the "real" world.

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

As much as I loved the Link-Marin interaction and the chemistry between the two... no. Marin is a dream person from Link's imagination that is based off of Zelda (kinda of). Malon took her place from OoT onward. Marin is by far my favorite female, but there's no way that she can come back as a character. Maybe in a passing conversation, but unless Koholint Island turns out to be real, I'd say no.

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

No need to bring Marin back. Malon is obviously just the..."upgraded" version of Marin, and she's been in multiple games. Stick with Malon.

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

My theory is that Malon IS Marin. Why? They look the same. LA, from what I remember, (haven't played in a while) is entirely a dream. So, Link is dreaming. Most people, when asleep, dream about people and things they know. So, obviously he's met Malon before which is why he dreams up Marin.

So pretty much, don't bring her back. She's just an illusion. And they already have her. She is Malon.

(Haven't played either of those games in a while, don't shoot me if I got that wrong.)

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

Marin =/= Malon

I think that Marin was originally Link's dream of Zelda, as indicated in one of her first lines: "...What? Zelda? No, my name's Marin! You must still be feeling a little woozy."

Or Marin is a combination of Malon and Zelda.

Either way, Marin and Malon are not one and the same. Malon replaced Marin as the cheery little redhead with a lazy father from OoT onward, because bringing Marin back would create controversy with Koholint Island being a dream world. As such, she won't come back, even as a seagull.

it would be cool to have her as an easter egg in the game.

Re: Should Marin be brought back?

In the original version of LA (not the dx version) I had to die atleast once because it seemed wrong to let Marin leave the island. I mean to find out that your family, friends and your entire world have been nothing more than a figment of someones imagination would be a mindshatering shock in the least. How would you feel if some one came to you and said your parent are not real and you are ust some nightmares mistake? Mental murder don't you think?

She should disapear like the rest of Koholint. In the DX version it doesn't bother me that much because it's realy not her, it's just a seagul that maybe has some connetction to her and maeby not. You can take that anyway you like.

I`m not sure. She she seems a bit like Malon in OoT.
