Four Swords or Two Swords?

I have heard that the Four Swords(the one combined with alttp, not FS Adventures) is only playable once there are four of you with one gameboy and one game each. But as I recall it I had two friends who used to play it just the two of them, but that was almost 4 years ago and I don't remember all the details.

Now the question is... What is true about the game? Do you HAVE to be four to play FS or is it enough with two people? Because I recently bought Alttp/FS and I am not very pleased about having to buy two more just to be able to play it with a friend.

So please tell me.

I belive it works with only 2 players. That's when it's most fun. ^_^ I much prefer being red link over green link. Don't ask me why...

i didn't even know you could use one with ALttP

It isn't something you use together. The game is called ALttP but also contains FS. It is an ad-on for GBA.

Yes, I can confirm that you can play it with only two players. I know because I played it this way last summer and beat it three times.

Four Swords is a 2-4 player game.

it is 2-4 however i think it's most fun when you have 4
