ALTTP Dark Palace temple help

Ok im in the dark palace temple and im at the boss. But I die almost every time! By the time i make it to the boss i have like 4 hearts and then the boss kills me. Does anyone have a good strategy for making it to the boss without loosing a lot of hearts so i can beat it?

do you have fairies or potions inside all your bottles?

Yes I tryed that too but I still died fast on the boss.

Dark Palace..
The boss there is the Helmassaur King right?

Allright , first of all , you'll need to destroy that mask.
You can do this with either the Bombs or the Hammer.
Three hits should be enough.

Then , when his mask fals of , hit the jewel on his head.
I think you can use arrows for this , but I'm not positive.
The Sword and Hammer should work though.

The main problem is that this boss deals massive damage.
I remember that he attacked with his tail.
To avoid this attack , stand in one of the unspiked conrners.

Maybe if I remembered the boss a little better I could've given more advice >_<
