So I want to talk about the ending of PH(spoilers)

(The sticky thread is closed, so what else am i supposed to do. If you don't wan't threads like these, unlock that thread)

Anyway, i really liked the ending. It was about to turn out like LA but instead of a dream, it actually happend. I think as to why the pirates said they were only gone for 10 minutes is because of some kind of time bending the gods did or something like that.

Also, Linebeck has got to be one of the best characters in a zelda game ever. I would love to see him in a future zelda game. There was a surprising amount of depth to his character towards the end. That last moment when you see his ship sailing away moved me...laugh if you want to idc

Well, I'm saying something I never thought i'd say: I wan't a sequal to Phantom freaking Hourglass. Aswell as a sequall to Majoras mask..>>.

I agree! I really Liked Linebeck he proves that you can have a very deep, likable character and still have a light, fun game. I wish TP's characters would have had better personalities. they were all too sappy and cliche'
(Telma was alright)

I do like Linebeck.

Apparently they wanted an LA-esque ending, but not totally the same. I doubt we'll see a sequel to PH, though. Nintendo hasn't made a sequel to a sequel yet. No sequels for AoL, MM, LA, or PH I think.

I liked PH a lot as well and i wouldn't mind a sequel.(even though there is a slim chance of there being one).
The ending was good also, but it did annoy me a tinsy little bit because of the dream thing.(But we do know it wasn't a dream.. right?...)

And yeah, i also loved Linebeck and i also think he's one of the best characters in a Zelda game...he kept me laughing throughout PH.

ALttP, presumably. Some people debate on this, but most believe it was the sequel to ALttP.

Hm, well that is one of the three zeldas I have yet to beat. so I guess I'll make that decision when the time comes, thanks for the info.

(the three, if you care: zelda 1, zelda II and alttp)

I thought Linebeck was a very extraodanary character. He was very funny, I thought he was a bit like Jack Sparrow. He was a big coward most of the time, which gave him a lot of his humour. "I'll be cleaning the rudder." "I was in the crate. It was boring!"
And at the end, he sacrificed his mind to Bellum to save Link. So he kind of became a hero. He also didn't wish for treasure, instead he wished for his ship back.

I'm not laughing. It moved me too.

Back to talking about the end of game, it could not possibly be a dream. When Link and Tetra went on the ghost ship, it brought them to the World of the Ocean King. Oshus and Ceilia must of given Link the phantom hourglass as a way to remember them.

Yeah, I don't know why so many people think it was a Link's Awakening-style dream world. I thought it was more of an alternate dimension. The Ghost Ship has the ability to go back and forth between the two worlds. It just only seemed like 10 minutes to everyone in our world (maybe the flow of time is different in the Ocean King's world?).

Maybe Linebeck is a play on Jack Sparrow. Since I never watched Pirates of the Carribean, I figured they just made someone who's personality was the opposite of Links.

Linebeck is a greedy, selfish coward. Link is a courageous, selfless hero. He's also right handed.

Linebeck is possibly my favorite PH character, and it's neice to see he changed. He became heroic as he picked up the Phantom Sword and stabbed Bellum's tentacle. He also fought off Bellum when Link was unconscious.

Post Pretty good ending.

It was a pretty good ending.
It was perhaps some things I didn't like, but overall; a pretty good ending (as I said).

I'm not going to laugh, it made me sad. I really want Linebeck to return, I really liked him. I didn't like him at first when I saw images of him, but when I actually saw him in the game, I thought he was really funny, and he should really return in a future Zelda game.

Yes, even if it's not a sequel to PH or TWW, they should still bring back his character somehow. It shouldn't be hard, since Malon and Tingle come back.

He could be someone to ferry you across a river in a future game, or just be some treasure hunter you meat in a dungeon.

Hmmmmm... How we saw Linebeck's ship at the end of the game... Is that a clue telling us that Linebeck joined Link and Tetra to find the new Hyrule? Maybe if they make another sequel (very unlikely) He will be with them?

Sound like a good idea?

Probably not.

Probably not, but I think Linebeck would be interested in it.

When you find Spirit Island, he says finding little spots like that is part of what makes sailing great. Though he doesn't know about the search for New Hyrule, Link and Tetra would likely invite him on their quest if/when they met up again.

Linebeck is the only character in any Zelda game that has made me laugh.

Same with me. No other characters have any humour in them.

Tingle made me laugh. I think he's the only other character that's geared towards comic relief, though.

probably because Oshus towards the end made many comments about "your world" and "this world"

i actually thought the end was WAY too Link's Awakening. i just hope Linebeck returns sometime in the future

yeah, my biggest problem is the LA style ending, it's like man i've seen this before. It is a bit different, with the hourglass or the ghost ship manipulating time to make it seem like a short while, but still

But it can't be a dream. It is a lot like LA, but it isn't a dream. A few reasons:
1. Tetra and Linebeck were there aswell.
2. Link still has the phantom hourglass
It just can't be a dream. It doesn't add up.

yeah, some dimension thing. I was wrong.
