Phantom Dungeon irritating?

Sorry... please don't get angry about this thread, but its true. I find the Phantom Dungeon very repetetive. I hope I'm not alone... (shivers)

You're not the only one. I personally thought it was really cool. I can see how it would be annoying if you're not as good at puzzle-solving and end up having o do things over and over before getting them right, but for me, it was JUST challenging enough that I was able to make it through every stage the first or second try. I got through things just before they became a pain.
As for the need to return to the dungeon throughout the game, i thought it was really coo, because you got to see a little more each time and there were shortcuts to get you further so you din't always have to start from the beginning. I liked it.

The joys of the dungeon are it's difficulty. I love the fact that everything resets on exit. Having to go through the same parts over again does get a little annoying but, the reward is so satisfying.

Thank goodness for the half way marker. If you start the dungeon from the begining and aim to get to the half way marker in a small amount of time, you obviously get more time in the dungeon later.

I've made it to the half way point in around 2 and a half mins. By playing over and over you do it eventually

I know how you feel, it just wasnt worth my time so I used a walkthru. Maybe next time they'll put decent dungeons in the game....so I won't want to use one. However, I only used it on the Oceant king temple. all the other places were mind numbingly easy. so i just felt like breezing thru the game.

Well, it was a little annoying to play the same rooms again, but that was OK. Plus, after playing some, I managed to clear it pretty fast.

Well, what I don't like about it is the fact that I have to keep doing the same floors. Yeah, I did get the teleport but I still have to do some annoying floors again.

I found it annoying the first two times, but once started grasping the specific mechanics and shortcuts of the dungeon, it quickly became much more enjoyable.

Another thing. They have been struggling with incorporating stealth gameplay into the Zelda series for a long time now. I find that with the Ocean King Temple, they finally managed to get it right.

Perhaps this is just because I'm used to repeating puzzles (replaying all the Zeldas, except AoL, LoZ, LA, and OoX which I'm on my first run through) I really enjoyed the reseting. The first time I did some puzzles, they took me minutes. The second and third, I'd improve my time, and then I'd just try to beat my records. Like the floor with the force gems and the triforce pattern on the floor, it took me 2 tries the first time, and then I was still running low on time. Then after a few goes, I was doing it in minimal amounts of time. It's really about becoming better.

PS Why would you need a guide to get through a puzzle you've already done? Did it once, you can do it again.

PPS I agree with stuit on stealth.

I personally loved going back to the temple of the ocean king. I like going through the dungeon again trying to find shortcuts and using new items to get through it faster. When i first played PH i found it amusing as to how deep the dungeon got the further you went into the game.
The Phantoms in the dungeon are also a nice touch. They provided more difficulty into the dungeon and its fun trying to manouver around them.

I didn't really mind the Temple of the Ocean King. It was fun the later times through, where you know all the short cuts. It's fun planning your strategy in the safe zones, and the time limit makes you try to work as fast as you can. And it's really fun the last time through, you get to kill all the phantoms.

I found it VERY ANNOYING.

It violates all of the things you shouldn't have to do in games.

1. You shouldn't have to repeat the same things more then twice
2. You shouldn't have to do stealth things in a game that isn't a stealth based game (one or two situations is OK)
3. You shouldn't have to be timed (usually)

It makes you repeat a timed, stealth dungeon, six times! Terrible.

Yep, the Phantom Dungeon was probably the biggest reason for me to name Phantom Hourglass as a depressing and disappointing game.

Two things that irritated me about the Temple of the Ocean King were the resetting of puzzles (though the halfway marker alleviated that problem greatly) and the stealth aspect.

Now, I've never been much for stealth gameplay, so it felt so satisfying when I finally got the Phantom Sword.

The time limit of the dungeon really ruined the game for me, it just doesn't seem right in a zelda game.

Going in there over and over again was pretty annoying. I don't really like stealth much, but it was fun sometimes. It was the best when you got the Phantom Sword though. THEN it seemed like less of a stealth game, and it was more enjoyable than before. I could stand going in there the first three or four times, but parts of the fourth and fifth were annoying. The last time is always the best, though.

Alright, so I found it slightly annoying, but it was still pretty cool and I loved it that you had to keep using items and they didn't just become obsolete. And for everyone who's complaining about the time limit that was kindof what the game was all about so if you didn't like it why did you play the game(it was called Phantom Hourglass for crying out loud).

I got Phantom Hourglass yesterday and am having a blast but the sea king temple, you leave and have to do the entire thing from scratch on limited life. I HATE that.

I think it's unique. I really like Phantom Hourglass.

But I really think that they should get rid of the oceans soon.

Er. Not really, there was a lot more to the game than time limits. Maybe, you played the game because it was fun overall.

I don't enjoy the Temple of the Ocean King. It was fun when you could use shortcuts, but in general, it was annoying. They should have shortened it and put some of the space to the other dungeons, which were way too short.

This Dungeon i found to be very hard, i did the first bit on the second or 3rd time, and when it was time to go back, i forgot how to do it, and then i would finally do it and then the bit after it was hard and i had difficulty on it. It is the hardest thing i have had to complete in a while.

I thought Phantom Houglass was PATHETIC. It belongs in the pit of Zelda mistakes with CD-i and The Minish Cap. The story was far from original, the sailing was worse than Wind Waker (I didn't even mind Wind Waker's sailing), and the gameplay was horrifyingly repetitive. I got one word for the dungeons: LIN-E-AR. There was rarely a part where you would have to choose between two paths, and it took no longer than twenty minutes to beat each one. The enemy population was sparse, and the bosses were weak. Aside from wrist pains, the controls were OKAY. In other words, I am disappointed. I'll only be looking forward to Eiji Aonuma's games from now on.
