HOORAY! I got Link's Awakening... OLD SCHOOL

Yeah, they had Link's awakening at the Exchange for $8 and I couldn't pass it up. although I'd rather have LA DX, The game is cool either way
I have to finish Oracle of Ages first...

I can't wait!

I'm suprized the cart still works too, although it looks like hell!
isn't there another dungeon in DX? what else is different?

DX has color, and a minidungeon where you can get a red or blue tunis. The red tunis increases your sword's power, and the blue tunic increases your defense against attacks.

Those are the main differences, though there may be a few others.

The difference, my friend, is that one is deluxe. And one is not. I'm on the second dungeon in mine.

well, I'm really glad I got my SP back after over a year so I can play my oracles and now LA! I really like the SP as a handheld system... (of course the DS is better, but doesn't play gameboy games)

Daphnes pretty much covered the differences, but an extra dungeon on such a great game is not to be sniffed at!

I actually just picked up an SP myself this weekend, even though I have a DS Lite. I misplaced my original GBA a few years ago, and I've wanted to get another purely for Gamecube link-up (which I thought maybe you could do with a DS). I got lucky and picked up the special edition Mario SP, for a criminally low price! Plus, Game Boy Color games with a backlight! Decent!

LA DX was not only my first Zelda ever, it was my first video game ever, period. IMO nothing beats this game. Enjoy it. ^_^

I've actually played LA DX. I borrowed it from a friend about 7 years ago and played it and loved it. that's why I'm excited to finally have a copy, even if it IS only the old school regular one, it'll still be fun. and the Ballad of the Windfish is my favorite song from any Zelda game

Man your lucky, it's a awsome game. Got mine a couple of years ago for only about 6-7 dollars (but in swedish money tho) and it's one of the best games for GB ever!
