Things I was dissapointed about in PH

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
I was really dissapointed that you only get one sheild, were is a mirror sheild? I wanted a mirror sheild like in WW, or OoT. I was also dissapointed in the Ocean Kings true form. I mean come on a whale? not even a gold whale or somthing cool like that, just a plain whale. I was kinda dissapointed that Lineback took your customized ship away. and the final dissapointment was that you never get to see your fairy freind again. Like most of Link's sidekicks we will never see her again. oh well, this was my favorite of Link's sidekicks yet.

Really, there wern't that many dissapointments. Mainly because this is my 2nd favorite LoZ game yet, only surpassed by the ultimate awesome OoT.

Yeah, I thought the storyline was a little weak as well.
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
And the only shield you get is the Wooden Shield? I mean, come on. I guess teh game makes up for it by letting you upgrade the spirit of wisdom, which in case makes it so your shield gives you more defense.

I prefer the upgraded spirit of power. Flame sword!!!! more power for the attack

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

The entire game is disappointing for me.

The music, the graphics (well...they're good for DS, but oh so ugly compared to TWW), the story, and yes the gameplay all disappointed me.

The music was entirely unmemorable, I think maybe 3 memorable songs in the game at best (not counting the wind waker remixes at the beginning). Off the top of my head the only one I can think of is the ocean theme.

The graphics were pixelly and ugly.

The story was perhaps the worst since the original two Zeldas. There were very little in the game and what was it in was very bad. Bellum is by far the worst villain in the Zelda series. He never says anything, and nothing is ever said about why he wants Life force, or where he came from etc.

The gameplay was...eh. The dungeons were really lame and unmemorable for the most part (the ice and goron dungeons were pretty good...), and a lot of the game is just really tedious (ocean king temple, travelling through fog etc.) and I preferred the sailing in TWW, more direct control.

Also, I don't think I'll ever play it again now that I beat it. My desire to replay it is 0. I never want to play through it again. Whereas I've beaten TWW twice, I'm gonna play TP for the second time soon and I'd like to play through OoT again if not just for enjoy of playing through the five adult temples.

Overall a big dissappointment but still a good game. I think I would have liked it a bit more if it wasn't a sequel to TWW and didn't lack all of the things that made TWW awesome.

8.4/10

8.6 is still a good game, wow your really generous with your ratings

I'd give it around 8.2 to be honest and I think it's a great game.
Its a tad easy, the dungeons as you said aren't very memorable and the music is completley uninspired.

On the otherhand, the grapihcs are superb for DS, some of Linebecks bits are funny. And hey its still Zelda. So a cool 8.2/10 from me

8.6...yeah...it might drop over time. Infact I'm dropping it to 8.4 right now

Keep in mind I've only beaten 4 Zelda games

8.4 is still a lot off the other Zelda's I've played.

(9.9 for TP, 9.8 for TWW, and 9.5 for OoT...)

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
I hated the ocean king's true form, what were they thinking? They could have atleast made him look like a king and not some 400 year old whale

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

I'm not too dissapointed with much of the game actually. I'll admit it was a tad on the easy side, but the Ocean King's Temple well made up for that.

Speaking of temples... They were somewhat too short, and most puzzls seemed oh so obvious, despite the new style Nintendo implemented into PH.
Good thing though, is that for most of the temples, the bosses made up for their easy difficulty. PH's bosses were fun and engaging IMO. If only I could face them multiple times now

Still one of my all-time favorite Zelda games. I adore the replay value it has, online battling is sweet! And it's another turn from tradition, which means I don't have to sucker myself into playing another game featuring Ganondorf, the Master Sword, or the Triforce.

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

I havnt completed it yet (I know I havn't experienced it all so I don't have a right to put it down as much as the people who have) but I'm not really 'settling' into it for a few reasons. Firstly, the side-quests take ages (and all for what, 20mins of temple!?) Then it gets harder on the bosses (Which I find quite fun and way more of a challenging than some bosses in TP) and even harder at the Ocean King Temple. The difficulty is always changing (and I don't mean easy, medium, hard etc, but mixed difficulties) and sometimes I find it annoyingly hard to adapt from easy to very hard (vice versa) and at the stage I'm at, not much is being explained and I'm doing a painful amount of running around for people.

Out of 10 I'd give it a 8 with OoT at 9 WW at 9 and TP at 9.5
N.B. My result will probably be changed after one of those reeeeally extremely long cutscenes that explain everything and make the game more interesting

You know, I really noticed how quickly the game would jump from hard to easy, and from mindnumbingly easy to DS breaking hard. The game does it a heck of a lot of times.

And to the bold, did you get halfway through the game yet? That's when that cutscene comes in if it was not for the ending of the game which has a TWW-ish feel I think I'd give PH an 8.

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

The sailing was a let down for me, and always fighting Jolene whenever i set sail because she always found me. I chose the sailing because it was boring, it was nice and quick unlike WW sailing and it was cool at the start but when i was sailing about looking for gems it just got a little tedious for me, other then that great game.

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

I liked it and it took me the same length of time to pass it as TP, 5 days, the bosses were so easy but usually for me, bosses are far too easy than some of the temples they were in.

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

I don't see how people can say they were disappointed with it, I was actually impressed with it. I wasn't intending on buying this game at all but then my dad bought it and I couldn't stop playing it.

Yeah sure it is a bit easy and the temples are short but there are so many good things about it. They have used the touch screen to full advantage which brings in so much more fresh ideas. I also love the fact that you can customize your ship and upgrade your fairies, it makes the game so much more enjoyable. There are many more good things about it but I can't be bothered to write anymore.

Re: Things I was dissapointed about in PH

I saw two "PH is disappointing" threads, so I decided to lock one. Go to the other if you will.

Having completed PH, I am disappointed

And yes, I agree it's disappointing. It's like a minigame instead of an actual game, as I beat it in three days. I miss not having any new items, as this is the first Zelda to not have new inventory items. I also like sailing better in TWW, I find, though I do like having infinite cannon balls in PH.
