PH + DS = Limited Edition Coolness

So, I was surprised after I bought the DS and 2 copies of PH for ZU's contest. The guy at the Gamestop handed me something extra - a limited edition cartoon cel of Phantom Hourglass stuff. It's quite nifty, and it's 29,000-something out of 50,000 prints. It depicts the old scene of Link running with his map, and Ciela flying overhead.

So, uh... point of this thread? Get a DS and PH? you can nab some really cool collectibles if you pay attention to Nintendo's promotions, I guess! (Nevermind that I found out about getting this completely by accident.)

I might post a picture of it later, or somebody else who has gotten one can post a picture of it. It's quite neat.

I got this picture thing for free, as well as a free premeire edition guide which had a huge pullout map of the great sea. however, if you flip it over, the other side shows a huge poster like picture of link and linebeck sailing in their little ship, with canon island in the distance. it was uber cool. not to mention I have also regestered to get my free quill stylus, so all in all I got tons of freebies with this game. I can't wait to get a PH skin for my ds once they are released.

I got one as well, surprisingly. Same place; GameStop. I wasn't expecting anything of the limited edition nature when I preordered PH. It was a nice little tread.

If you preorderd from Wal-Mart though, then you got PH skin and a green stylus. I'd rather have this instead of the cel art. . . It looks really sexy on the black DS Lite.

Green stylus? Worthless! You can get a feather stylus from Nintendo for buying PH and registering it there. That thing looks seriously cool ... shame it won't fit in the stylus slot of the DS, though.

Yeah, the green stylus is kind of unneeded. I can paint my white green any day. But then, I'd have a white DS with a green stylus. Eww.

I just registered to get that feather stylus. However like you wrote, it's a damn shame it doesn't fit in the stylus slot. I've been wondering though: Why a feather? Why not make it an extremely slim hourglass, or something that better represents PH? Is it supposed to be the representation of a quill or something? Meh.

I really need that skin though. That's officially on my "MUST GET AT ALL COSTS" list. It's just too damn sexy to pass up.

yeah i dunno i mean its all ok, but the feather stylus looks cool and actually worth using to play PH.

well, to get the useless stuff, get it from preordering at wal-mart, you get a free guide for preordering at toys r us (20 dollar guide, awesome!) for registering it, you get the feather pen.

Yes, it is supposed to be a quill. As in, you, the player, has the quill - the instrument of a cartographer. Hence, you make the maps with your cartographer's tool, the feather quill stylus.

We're actually selling these in the store if you didn't get one. It's part of a kit that includes a clear gripper case, 3 stylii, and the skin in question.

As for the "why is it a quill", it's for the same reason that the Lost in Blue 2 stylus was a stick. It's cool.

Edit: Hey wait! There are two skins. One that looks like our cases and one that looks like the posters mentioned above. Weird.

I'm probobly going for the one that looks like the poster.

On second look though ... it doesn't have the waves ;_;
