Phantom Hourglass Cannon Help

I'm having a little trouble with my cannon. It doesn't seem to want to ... work. Yesterday I used it fine, tapping the screen to shoot. Today, I just can't make it work. No matter how hard or lightly I tap the screen to shoot the canon, all it does is make my screen move. It's getting really irritating - because I can't hit the bad guys, and I keep sinking. I'm on my way to the Northwest Sea, I've already solved the puzzle to get through the fog, I just can't actually get THROUGH it because I keep dying .. because my cannon sucks.

Is it just the way I'm tapping my screen? Does anybody have any tips? Thanks

Are you sure you're not tapping on the edges or dragging the stylus across? Sometimes, that can move the screen. I usually just tap straight down on the screen and it'll fire. Try that and see if it'll work.

I don't think this is a glitch though. It maybe you're not just doing a quick tap on the screen.

I agree with LtZ here. If that doesn't work, try cleaning the tip of your stylus and DS screen. Who knows, maybe this could just be an effect of dust or whatnot (like when your mouse starts fidgetting).

Are you sure you HAVE the cannon?

they did say they used it fine the day before. so yeah they have the cannon.
It's probably that you're dragging it or that the screen is dirty. I agree with everyone else that you should clean the stylus and screen and try to tap not put the stylus on the screen.
