There is no curse in Elvish, Entish or the tongues of Men for this...(LTTP problem)

I've won the SNES and GBA versions of LTTP on countless occasions. Now I'm trying to beat my old record for lives and beat the game again at the same time; suddenly, right before Ganon, I've hit a most horrible little snag.
The bomb guy doesn't have the Super Bomb. I've gotten every Crystal(though two were out of order, that can't be it can it?) and every item aside from a few bottles, I've fought Ganon and fallen down the pit, I've tried everything, this is a nightmare!
Can anyone offer a reason why the Super Bomb wouldn't be sold?

I think I heard that the bomb isn't sold if you don't save or die on the SNES version of ALttP... on the GBA you are a rabbit when brought into the dark world by Ganon- BUT, I could be wrong.

Did you get the blue mail? That might affect it too?

Ah, it looks like I just needed to go under 100 rupees, then regain the amount necessary...kinda stupid, really.
But in any case, I got my Super Bomb now, I killed Ganon, and I got 63 as opposed to my old 70-somethin'. Which is good. Some day perhaps I'll be able to win without dying.

Or maybe it was some other small task I did on my travels, like...getting magic powder. I don't know, but hopefully I'll never have to relive that few hour-long nightmare of not knowing why I can't have my Super Bomb.

You died 63 times??? I had never played ALttP before and I got it for my GBA, the first time I beat it I only died once, and the second I beat it I didn't die even once, zero game-overs.

Or perhaps I'm too much of a rushed button-masher to win a game without dying. 63's the best I've ever gotten; I sorta just charge in there and see what happens, rarely buying potions ahead of time. It's not great for beating records, but it's fun and eventually gets the job done. Perhaps we just have very different tactics.
Nah, no trade sequence, really. Just getting the mushroom to the witch to get Magic Powder, then having Vire double my magic, and I'm certain that you don't have to do that to win; I've won on many occasions without doing that first.
I think it was just the Rupee thing...pretty stupid, but the most logical explanation.

Well if you play the SNES version whenever you die it is recorded, in GBA you have to save after you die for it to count. That could have smoething to do wiht it... but 63 times? wow you must rush in with your eyes closed... Nah my first time I died 10 Times... from then on it's been 0-1 deaths per game.
