Did anyone notice the Biggoron in MC?

If you go up on Veil Falls at the very top of the mountain, there is a biggoron that keeps making noises. It caught my attention and I couldn't find anything to do with him. Is he there just for show or did anyone else find anything?

After completeing the game once (I think), he says he's hungry and asks if he can eat your shield.
If you say yes, he'll eat it, and give you a Mirror Shield.

Oh i think i should do that now, so that's were you get the mirror sheild...


Edit: It's not working for me, I'm atop veil falls by the biggoron but he says nothing.

Yup actually I beat again just this morning

Have you completed the Goron sidequest (the one that gets you the bottle)?

Ohh no not yet, i'm missing a few gorons do you want to know for exact?

Because to get the Mirror shield you need to complete the game and have completed the sidequest with the Gorons completely.
Since you said you'd completed the game, I just assumed you'd done that quest too.
You need to complete that sidequest to get the Mirror Shield.

Ohh that's going to take a whille, i'm on the second wall but i don't know how many walls there are at the moment...

I believe there are four or five.

I have 5 gorons on the 3rd wall, i fused in Lake Hylia Minish Woods Eastern Hills(cave) Eastern Hilles(with the farmer dude) and in Tribily Highlands, where else do I fuse?

Edit: yay I found the last one on Mt. Cernal!

ummm just to say this but: i let him eat my sheild and i didn't get the mirror sheild, is there something i have to do?
