untold secrets...

a long time ago Nintendo had canceled a game that was to be part of the oracle series (Farore's portion) this game was to be called "LOZ:the acorn of the mysterious tree" this game was canceled before it's relese and not much is known about it.

please discuss your thoughts on this game and if you think that it should have been canceled or if you are glad it was cancelled.

Yeah, I remember reading an old Nintendo Power mag. In it they were talking about the three Zelda games they were making for the GBC. I don't know why by they decided to make the three games into two and make Farore the Oracle of Secrets. Strange, I wonder why they did that...

yeah this is old news. At first the names of the games were going to be
TLOZ:Mystical seeds of courage
TLOZ:Mystical seeds of wisdom
TLOZ:Mystical seeds of power

But for some reason they cancelled and wanted only 2 so they changed the whole name completely to Oracles of ... They haven't really said why though.

I think it was because the password-connectivity feature that they wanted to have between the games was too difficult to implement with a three game system.

Also, this explains why there are 3 torch things for reviving Ganon, but only 2 games. :O

Farore's role sucks. I agree with the rest of you. Plus, it takes wisdom to be a secret keeper, not courage. Sheesh, Nintendo screwed up! lol

yeah because you need courage to go back in time even thought it may have devastating effects. but you also need wisdom to know what to do and not to do in the past so that the future stays the same.

It would've been pretty cool if there was a Oracle of Secrets game....could've had Farore on the cover..and the box could've been green, a 3rd continent to travel too, new items.

what would be the main feature of the 3rd game though if they didn't scrap it anyway? in Ages it was time travel...and Seasons it was controlling the weather...what would you do in the 3rd one?

I think that's the road bumb they hit, Zerecon. Plus the complexity of a three way linked game, but they did a four way link game for FSA (the GBA version that came with ALttP) so I don't get that part.

For Four Sword, it wasnt that they were "linked games", it was that you played linked with four other people. In the Oracle games, the plots were "linked" through the use of passwords. The way that they were linked (the password system), was very difficult to implement between 3 games, and that is one of the reasons it was cut down to two.

In the article of the link above it shows and tells that you will have the rod of seasons but it has different powers or something....

Yeah from what I understand the 3rd game they were making was actually in development before OoA/OoS..and it originally had Season's plotline...but it took place in Hyrule instead.

I never new anything about this, untill just now.

These screenshots. . . They look like they're a BETA of LADX. . . And some are also from Phantom Hourglass or a GBA version of TLoZ. . . Huh.

Looks to me like they are screens from OoS, parts of the game which later got deleted.
