Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
I have a glitch but I've only tried it on Oracle of Ages and Seasons. There are certain rooms in which a chest appears after defeating all enemies. If you defeat the last enemy where the chest is to appear. You will be stuck on top of the chest. You are stuck and you'd have to turn off the game. This glitch is pointless and does not show any visual damage to the game. This glitch is neither helpful nor has it any effect to the game.

lttp glitch world/dungeon storage area
okay, 2 glitches for alttp.
whenever you are in a dugeon in the dark world, and you know that there is magic (or whatever its called) under a pot, throw magic powder on it to get a fairy. i think if you leave the room, it will reset, so you can get all the fairies you need. (this was probably programmed in so its technically not a glitch. this can be really useful in many dungeons if your low on life and dont wast to have to go back to the beginning. my cousin showed me the second glitch, and i experimented with it quite a bit . in a dungeon, equip the magic mirror, and go to a ledge that you can jump down. try to jump over the ledge, but just before link jumps, use the magic mirror. the goal is to get him to say "hup", and then use the magic mirror before jumping. the timing is hard. now, go from the entrance to the dungeon back to the top of the ledge (without getting hurt), and run into and bounce off of a wall. you should fall through the floor. from here, you can explore all the different rooms in different dungeons. you can walk around in pits, and to get out use the magic mirror or find a ledge and jump through it you can use this glitch to: -see wierd transforming skeletons in some places -get to the dark world without getting the master sword (go from the east palace to the thieves hideout) -get into and beat the four sword dungeon without ever playing four swords -see unfinished rooms that were never put into the playable game. if you get into another dungeun from here, and use the magic mirror or died, you will go back to the dungeon you used the glitch in. this is a fun glitch to play around with. the best place to do it is in the thieves hideout. as far as i know, theres no danger of corrupting the gae, though i wouldnt save in the glitch area |

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
Thought I'd report the glitch in LADX I discovered a couple weeks ago...
This glitch lets you have Marin for the rest of the game. All you gotta do is play through the game normally until you get to Animal Village with Marin. Go into and out of a house there and save. You might want to copy your file here, because it can take some trial and error. Anyway, once Marin wakes the walrus and leaves, save and turn the game off at the same time. If you can get the timing right, when you start playing again, Marin will be with you, and the walrus will be gone! Some notes on this: 1. Marin will still say all her comments on item usage, which can get a little annoying after you've heard "Great! Dig it! Dig it! Dig to the center of the earth!!" for the millionth time. She'll also still wait for you outside dungeons (sometimes sitting down in a statue or something). Oh, and since she can't swim, if you're swimming she walks on the water to follow you. Kinda funny, heheh... 2. Any characters that would change locations/dialogue because of Marin will stay where they are. The boys that comment on you and Marin walking together will continue to say that, and the rabbits in the Animal Village will still greet Marin like she just showed up. 3. Whenever a character is supposed to follow you (Ghost, Flying Rooster), Marin's sprite will become that character as well. After Level 4 she'll be a ghost, and after you get the rooster she'll be a glitchy rooster, too. After a character leaves you, normal gameplay SHOULD turn Marin back to normal. I haven't had any problems with her turning back, so... Yeah. 4. You can't get the picture of the mouse guy falling off the bridge for some reason. I've beaten the rest of the game and this is the only thing I couldn't get. *Shrugs* 5. Here's the only real harm from this glitch. In the scene where Marin is on the bridge to Level 8 and you have to save her, if you DO save her the game will get confused with two Marins and freeze. So you'll have to use the Pegasus Boots to jump to the tile below Marin without saving her and continue on your journey... Kinda sad, but that's the price, I suppose. |

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
The screen warp glitch only works on Non-DX and First-Print editions of LADX (I think)
This is a fun glitch in Link's Awakening: -1. There are two versions of this world. Which one you land in depends on if you kill monsters or not before performing the glitch. If you don't kill any monsters, you will be taken to Gopongo Swamp (DX) or Yarna Desert (B&W)). -2. Go to the Screen with Madam Meow Meow's house. -3. Stand above the dog house, touching the roof. -4. Hold down. -5. While holding down tap right so that Link moves one pixel to the right. -6. Continue step five until Link goes to the right so far that he is able to move down the right side of the dog house. -7. You will now be standing next to the dog house but will be further "into" the dog house than you can normally be. -8. Hold down and left. You will enter the dog house door from behind and will appear in the glitch world (unless you killed no enemies). Which rendition of the glitch world you appear in is decided by the number of enemies you have killed since loading your save file. Worlds 10 - 31 (10 enemies to 31 enemies killed) are for the most part completely useless/cannot be navigated. World 32 is the same as world 1, world 33 is the same as world 2 and so on. When you first appear in the glitch world you will not be able to see Link, hold up and left to move the screen up then hold left to move the screen left where you will be able to see and move Link (this screen you move up and left to is the screen which I use as the starting screen, not the one that you first see upon entering the glitch world). Or, if immediately after entering the glitch world you tap up (but don’t move the screen) and then use the Pegasus boots you'll skip down 3-4 screens. Here's another: -1. Once you have used up 3 keys in Level 4, go to room 5C. -2. Jump north over the water towards the switch. The jump looks impossible but you can do it. Once you make the jump go north and unlock the block. This puts you in an interesting predicament. You cannot get the fifth key without the flippers and you can't get the flippers without the fifth key. How to fix this is as follows: Enter room 3B in dungeon 4 and walk to the east side. Stand as far south in the doorway as possible and perform the screen jump glitch. You should land on the wall but next to the deep water as well. Equip the Roc's feather and jump south west. If you mess up and land in the water you drown, but reappear on the wall again. Head north and step on the five squares as they light up in order then go north to claim the flippers. Now you can get the fifth key and fight the mini-boss. Interesting note: If you go east then south from the flipper room to fight the mini boss, the game scrolls you down that screen and spits you out just below it. But in the DX version, an extra tile of water has been placed where you could jump from on the original version, rendering the trick impossible. urn off your game EDIT: I found anothre one like the one above. In Eagle's Tower, go to the first room with the Three of A Kind guys. Toss the orb on the tile where the chest appears and set about getting all of their cards to look the same. After which, the treasure chest pops up. Because you threw the orb on the spot where the chest appears it is now impossible to get the orb off the chest. To fix it just turn off your game (but in doing this you'll lose what you did back to your last save). And another... 1. Give the Letter to Mr. Write. 2. While he is talking to you, hold Down while rapidly pressing B. If you do it enough, you'll start moving down pixel by pixel. 3. Eventually, you'll end up heading outside and not get the Broom. On top of that, you'll never be able to get the broom after that point. |

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
Temple of the Ocean King Glitch
Note: This requires an Action Replay and the code: "Press X to Moon Jump" While trying to save Linebeck in the first room, Moon Jump over the Door of Power (the big slab with a Fire Crest on it: it's hard to miss) and head downstairs. Step off of the safe zone. Wait for the Phantoms to appear. When Ciela finishes talking, Leaf (the Spirit of Power) will fly out of Link's pocket. Of course, since you have not yet rescued her, the game will get confused with two Leafs and freeze. I have done this once or twice. The second time was accidental: I was trying to jump over the locked door and get the Sea Chart, but instead, I hit an invisible wall and ended up landing behind the Door of Power.

Phantom Hourglass: Mercay Island
![]() Ignore the quality of the picture. How do I get my Nikon Coolpix S200 to take better screen pictures? I was playing around with a cucco and my Great Spin Attack near the dock, and the cucco barrage attacked me. The cucco ended up in the right corner between the shipyard and the stones. I hammered it, and another attack started. The lady ended up in the water!

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
The Isle of Ember's Makeshift Grappling Hook Alright, anyone who has gone out to collect all the spirit gems in Phantom Hourglass should know about the Courage Gem on the Isle of Ember, right? Well, presumably, you can only get to it with the Grappling Hook. But I have found a way around it. Step 1: From the dock area, head north. Once you get to the water, you should see a little island with a chest on it. Step 2: Now, jump into the water as close to the island as you can. When you do, you should have gotten close enough to cause the Chuchu on the island to pop up. Step 3: Run back south to the area with the houses (Make sure not to leave the screen!), then go up the stairs and back to the island. Wait fot the Chuchu to get as far away from the previous spot you were standing as possible. Step 4: As soon as you feel comfortable with the distance, jump down to the aformentioned spot, and tap the Chuchu to do a jump attack. If done correctly, you should have spanned the gap of water and landed on the island with the attack. The Chuchu should have died also. Step 5: Open the chest for an early Courage Gem! Yay! Step 6: Now, there is one last thing... without the grappling hook, how are you suppost to get off? XD Well, just save and quit. You'll get to keep the Spirit Gem, but you'll be restarted back at the dock. Huzzah! Yeah, I found this all by myself. Yay me. And no, it is not harmfull. Yeah, I guess it's helpfull. And I totally think it's cool. |

This is a variation on the glitch that allows you to access a glitch world through Bow Wow's kennel:
- Load a save file from somewhere in Mabe Village and kill 14 enemies without being hit. The easiest way to do this is to head north-east and slay 14 zombies. Remember that the 'dying flicker' needs to disappear completely for the kill to register. - Return to Mabe Village and enter the glitch world via Bow Wow's kennel as previously described. - From your starting position, move Up, Left (to bring Link into view), Up, Right. You'll be in a room with a switch on the floor, which looks like an oddly-coloured tile. Step on it to make a chest appear with the Ocarina inside. - At this point some disjointed music will start playing. If you move Right after opening the chest, the screen will freeze, scramble, flicker violently, and ultimately the game will crash. ![]() Be warned: This crash seems to be more destructive than any other I've encountered while playing the game. It's already erased my save file three times. Also, only a few emulators can reproduce this glitch. Use bgb. |

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
This one has been reposted time and time again but...
Get Marin to follow you (beat the first three levels) then take the wap (the hole with the spirals in them) to the animal villiage. Walk to the left. When you are about to go to the next screen, push Select, and you should go completely warp across the screen. Now Marin will follow you the whole game.

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
LADX Glitch
This may be a old thing but I discovered this last night. For some dungeons there will be mini bosses or whatever that there are two at a time (for example the 5th level there was those 2 spiders). The trick is if you just kill one of them leave the room. When the screen changes go back to that room where you just fought them. Once you still back in you'll notice that the other mini boss is dead and that there is a now that transporter star thingy on the floor that can take you back to the beginning of the level. I highly recommend this for anyone who is interested in doing a speedrun or someone who just doesn't want to fight. I'm not sure if this works in the regular LA version, but I know it works in the LADX.

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
The Oracle games, it works in both of them
Useful, not dangerous. When you need Moosh to get to anything, chances are you'll have to face a series of pitfalls, falling into one respawns you wherever you entered the screen. This can be manipulated for your benefit. After jumping/floating over any of the holes, dismount Moosh, open the item selection screen. And that's all that needs to be done, you can do this after every hole if need be. Now whenever you fall in one, instead of having to go through from the start of the hole mazes, you can respawn smack in the middle of it. Link will respawn from any place you opened the menu. I figured that out early into playing with Moosh, maybe bc I couldn't get him to float and spent a lot of time trying to get the key. I was a good ways into the maze, dieing and wanted to try other things, then Ta-Da I mount Moosh, fall in and respawn where I left off. I tested it out with both games and it works. |

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Glitch Thread
i know an AWESOME phantom hourglass glitch. if you go to the north-east qudrant and get the pure metal there BEFORE you get the goron temple pure metal (yes you can), once you get the hammer, go to goron island.
go to the place where the bridge to the temple would be IF you extended it yet. with the hammer, you can hit the switch and enter the temple. beat it like normal. now here's the good part! gongoron is programmed to be in the temple with you, but since you didn't make him go IN the temple yet, when you go back to see biggoron, there will be TWO gongorons. biggoron will act like you JUST landed on the island, and the game becomes unbeatablez! this is because ciela won't let you leave the island until you ask biggoron to let you take the crimsonine! but since he thinks yu just got there, you can' get permission! since you allready beat the temple, you can't do it again, rendering the game unbeatable unless you didn't save before beating the goron temple! the best part is that there are TWO gongorons! EDIT: 123rd post!
