Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

Well i have like 40 rings or something. I know you can get 64. There's lots of cool rings out there like there's this one ring where you can punch with Link. Cool huh! Check out www.gamefaqs.com for more info.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

Yes, I've gotten all of them. Took me forever to get them. My favorite is the Red Ring. The Power Ring Level 3 is more powerful than the Red Ring, but if you're hit, you lose three times as much damage, so I never use it. The First Gen Ring is pretty awesome too.

A Few Questions About Obtaining Rings

1) Is it possible to have all 64 rings on one save file or is it only possible to have all 64 rings between the 2 games?
2) Is it possible to transfer rings from a password linked game to another password linked game or is it only possible to transfer rings from an "original" game to a password linked game?
3) are there any particular planting spots you recommend in OOA and OOS to find the rare rings?
4) has anyone found rare rings in the guess the correct treasure chest game on the 2nd floor of the shop in OOS or OOA? I have won multiple rings this way but they are not the rare ones.
5) I have not been able to obtain the victory ring even though I have defeated ganon in both OOA and OOS. do you have to save the game after you beat it? i don't remember the save option coming up after I beat the game.
6) do you think this method for obtaining rare rings would work? Plan gasha nuts and let the tree grow. Then save the game. Go back to the tree and get the ring appraised. If you already have the ring just reset and try it again until you get a ring you don't have.
7) when using the gasha ring, do you only have to wear when you plant the seed? or only when go to collect the seed from the tree? or both?

Thanks everybody for taking the time to read my questions.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

*Merged "A Few Questions About Obtaining Rings" cent208, please check if there's a thread on the subject you want to talk about before making a new one*

1) Is it possible to have all 64 rings on one save file or is it only possible to have all 64 rings between the 2 games?
-Yes it is possible to have all 64 rings on one save file.

2) Is it possible to transfer rings from a password linked game to another password linked game or is it only possible to transfer rings from an "original" game to a password linked game?
-It is only possible to transfer rings from an "original" game to a passworded linked game (you can also to talk to one of Vasu's snakes).

3) are there any particular planting spots you recommend in OOA and OOS to find the rare rings?
-Place them anywhere that is hard to reach/someplace you rarely go to. In OoA I'd recomend planting in Talus Peaks in the present, and Crescent Strait in the Present. When it comes to OoS I'd recomend the Tarm Ruins and Mt Cucco.

4) has anyone found rare rings in the guess the correct treasure chest game on the 2nd floor of the shop in OOS or OOA? I have won multiple rings this way but they are not the rare ones.
-I personally haven't...after awhile the rings start to repeat themselves. There's like a set of 8 different rings you can win from that game (I'm guessing).

5) I have not been able to obtain the victory ring even though I have defeated ganon in both OOA and OOS. do you have to save the game after you beat it? i don't remember the save option coming up after I beat the game.
-You must transfer the "Hero's Password" given to you at the end of the linked-game, and transfer it into a new file. You will start out with the Victory Ring.

6) do you think this method for obtaining rare rings would work? Plan gasha nuts and let the tree grow. Then save the game. Go back to the tree and get the ring appraised. If you already have the ring just reset and try it again until you get a ring you don't have.
-This is my method: Plant the Gasha seed in a very rare place (a place you don't often go to), fight a lot of monsters (even go and do dungeons without touching the tree), save, and then check to see on the ring.

7) when using the gasha ring, do you only have to wear when you plant the seed? or only when go to collect the seed from the tree? or both?
-I honestly never use the Gasha Ring...but who knows if it will make your luck strike better.

64 rings in one save file

thanks for all the info. I don't understand how you can get all 64 rings in one save file since you can't transfer rings from a password linked game to a password linked game. for example, how can you get the armor ring 3 and the power ring 3 in one save file since the armor ring 3 can only be found in OOA password linked game and the power ring 3 can only be found in the in a OOS password linked game? this is even more complicated with the victory ring b/c this can only be obtained in a third game.
Thanks for your help,

Let's say that you were playing a password-linked game (from OoS to OoA). In the OoS file, you can still collect new rings and transfer them to your OoA file (via a password one of Vasu's Snakes will tell you). Ok so after beating the password-linked game and have collected all of the rings you could, you should be up to 62 Rings...the ones left are the Power Ring 3 and the Victory Ring Correct? Well after defeating the OoA (and Ganon) in the password-linked game, take the password (code-named "Hero's Password" I believe) and put it into a second file in OoS. In the begining of the game you will start out with the Victory Ring (which makes this 63). Go to Vasu's shop in your OoA file and ask the snake for the password. Use that password on the snake in your second OoS file to transfer all of your rings. In this second file (please correct me if I'm wrong) the Hero's Cave should be large and you should be able to collect the final ring: Power Ring 3.

Thank goodness Nintendo decided not to make the third game or this would have been more confusing

thanks

Thanks a million. I never would have figured that out on my own. It is a little confusing but it makes sense now. My goal is to have 64 rings in my OOA game and 64 rings in my OOS game. What pisses me off is that I already beat OOA and OOS twice (once has an "original game" and second as a password linked game) now i have to beat them each one more time. Its ridiculous that nintendo makes you beat each game 3 times just to have 64 rings in each file. Just had to rant about that. Has anyone actually done this? Edit: I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe it is possible to only have 62 rings in a OOA and 63 in OOS. I do not think you can get the Heart Ring 1 or the Swimmer's Ring and the victory ring in a password linked OOA game that was made with the Hero's secret after defeating ganon. I'll explain. To obtain the Heart ring 1 for example you have to:
1) complete an original OOS game
2) play a password linked OOA and talk to the great fairy who will give you a secret for your original OOS game
3) you then find the ring in the original OOS game
4) transfer the ring to your password linked OOA game via the red snake
Now if you want to have the victory ring and the heart ring 1 in the same file you would:
1) create password linked OOS game from the password linked OOA game by defeating ganon to get the victory ring (as you explained to me)
2) transfer the heart ring 1 over via the red snake
But the problems lies in getting the heart ring 1 and victory ring in the same OOA file because you can only obtain the heart ring 1 in OOA by the method above in a password linked game but then to get the victory ring you would need to create a password linked OOA game from your previous password linked OOA game which is impossible. I know its long winded but if you think about it I think you will agree with me. The same applies with getting the spin ring and the victory ring in OOS.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

None of the rings really jumped out at me but the one I use the most is the one where you slowly regain hearts.

The Ring I never use is the Cursed Ring, for obvious reasons.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

The First Gen Ring is most definately the coolest ring in the Oracles. Gotta love playing as the original Link

Oh and I saw somebody mention GameFAQs for Ring Guides, so I thought I'd just remind you all that we have pretty extensive Ring Guides for both Ages and Seasons here at ZU too.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

I personally like the red ring. It took me forever to get it. I guess the reason I like it a lot is because it is an offensive ring and not defensive. I always go on the offensive when playing games and it doesnt matter which games. I ususally never block in any other game that probally the reason i like OOA and OOS.

help need in finding 3 rings

1) light ring 2: The american strategy guide says that you need to score 350 points in the lynna village game in OOA. I scored 350 points in the "hit the target" game in lynna village past but I received a ring but it was not the light ring 2.
2) bomber's ring: the strategy guide says that you need to win the goron dance minigame in OOA. i did 6 out 8 dances correctly on the bronze level and only got 30 rupees. do you need to do 8 out 8 dances correctly? do you need to play on silver or gold level?
3) bombproof ring: I found this ring in a gasha tree in OOS. the strategy guide says that you need to win the goron dance to win it in OOA. same questions from #2.

Thanks a lot,
cent208

P.S. Please do not combine this with the other ring thread. i do not think as many people will read it.

Re: Oracle of Seasons/Ages Rings

I'm not sure, but I'd think you have to do it on gold, or at least silver. Maybe try it in the opposite age, as well.

I'm sorry my friend, but I have to. *Merged Thread* If not me, then another Mod would have.
