request: scan of Nintendo Power Link's Awakening preview

I'm really interested in a scan of Nintendo Power's Link's Awakening preview. I've read that it had an entirely different LTTP-like world map etc., which I really want to see for myself.

I'm SO addicted to Zelda betas ...in fact I'm considering starting a webpage about my OOA/OOS beta findings, so this would be a nice thing to feature there...

As far as I can find it's either issue 48 or 50. Not sure though. Here's what one forummer said about it...:

I *think* it was October 1993.. I seem to remember it at least being an October issue.. it was in the Pak Watch section and just called "Legend of Zelda for Gameboy"

Anybody got a scan? Or can make one?... pleeeeese???

Gameboy betas? Sounds interesting. I like beta stuff too. Unfortunately, I have no clue where to find that kind of stuff, and I've never subscribed to Nintendo Power. :/

I looove beta stuff, I really want to play the Alpha and Beta OoT. Somewhere they should still have it, they usually keep em' for some odd reasons. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find that issue, though I do remember having it.

Just scroll down a bit until you reach the Nintendo Power Magazine section. There they have downloadable zip files of the scans taken from NPM. If I don't see you again (well I do hope you become a perminant member here at ZU), you're welcome.

Wow! Um, that would be great, but, um, unfortunately that's NOT the right one...

This one has the correct LA overworld map and it has the game name, whereas the forummer said it was just "Zelda 4" and in the "Pak Watch" section.

But maybe I'll email this Mak guy, see if he can help. After all, he's scanned almost everything *else* about Zelda games...

Yes I think I'll stick around for a bit, maybe bother you with some more questions at some point...

...and I LOVE the nice readable EGM scan you guys did! If I ever get around to making a betas webpage, I'll list the various hoaxes too. Especially the Zelda 2005 hoax names... Reins of Sorrow... hehehe... Bridle of Melancholy... sounds like a Castlevania game...

OK, sounds cool! I've actually asked at the originating forum too, and things there are looking fairly promising.

I know of what you speak. It's just an overworld in-game map when you hit select. It doesn't look like the LA final map. But it is just an IN-GAME map generated on the sub-menu.

And it says ZELDA IV I think. Maybe Zelda 4. Not sure.

Didn't I say that? Yeah, it's just the Select Button map screen, apparently. But anyway is completely different from the final thing.
