The GBA port of Zelda II....

I think I remember hearing somewhere that there was something about it that was changed from the NES version. If so, what is it? There's this guy around here selling it for 5 bucks and I was thinking about picking it up (yes, Mr. 'REMAKES SUCKS ASS' is thinking about getting this) but if it was changed somehow, then forget it.

Re: The GBA port of Zelda II....

As far as I know, nothing was changed.

The rerelease of LoZ fixed up some typos, but that was all. I imagine it's the same here.

I actually own the rerelease, but I haven't bothered to play it.

I have both LOZ and AOL on GBA, but not for NES. I have no idea if anything was changed.

Re: The GBA port of Zelda II....

I've played on the re-makes of LoZ and AoL, nothing has changed in the game, so don't panic. All the original gaming glory is still in there.

Nothing changed, it's just the same version from the collector's edition for gamecube. The glitches are still there, which is good because there part of the Zelda gameplay.

Re: The GBA port of Zelda II....

There were a few changes between the Japanese and English versions (other than the language) of the original NES game. The Collector's Edition disk and NES Classics edition retain these changes, so if you hate changes that much I suggest you track down the Japanese edition.

Re: The GBA port of Zelda II....

i just played LttP this morning, and I'm pretty sure that he does shout when you swing the sword. and if you don't like it, just turn down the volume. (this may sound crazy, even far-fetched, but it ACTUALLY works)

I believe I remember some sort of shout also on the NES version too... Almost like a "HAI". I would try to prove it, but alas, my cartridge is dead for my NES. I was actually going to pick up the GB port of the game, but I passed. I'll eventually buy the NES cartridge on eBay someday. Then, I will know for sure if he made that shouting. ^__^
