Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
i love TMC on my Zelda GBA SP it's one of the best games out, although it is quite short.
LA comes a close second for its length but I don't play on it as much anymore because i've completed it too many times

Sorry the bundle pack is not avilable in the US, if you guys want it go to Ebay and bid on it. ON topic: My favorire is OOA, cause it's the first game I got (plus my cousin went all that trouble to get the game for me, it's $60 something in Austrailla) Sadly, I lost it. But I really want to play Minish Cap, cause people are telling me to buy it and I played the first 5 min. of the game. |

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Me? Well, I'd have to say Minish Cap. I know it is totally straightforward and an easy game, but I was really impressed by the gameplay, graphics, and new elements. I also love Oracle of Seasons. Unfortunately, I haven't played Oracle of Ages T_T. I need to stock up on some new Zelda games!

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Easily LA (DX) for me. It was the first zelda game I ever played, and the first time I was introduced to the series at all (unfourtunatly my copy is now broken and wont save, after I lent it to a friend). I have yet to play mimish cap, and I found both OoS and OoA a bit stupid really.

Hmm
Well, I guess my vote isn't worth much since I haven't played any of them except the Minish Cap, lol. So, obviously, my vote went towards.... (drum roll please) The Minish Cap!

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
I decided that it wouldn't be fair for me to answere the poll because I myself haven't truely played TMC or LA(Tried them). I most likely will eventualy but right now I'm re-beating OoT...Anyway. Of the GameBoy games that I've played and beaten; Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, and Four Swords, I would have to say Oracle Of Ages because I found it very challenging and I enjoyed travelling through time, even though it's not the first time it's been introduced in a Zelda game. Oracle Of Seasons was really fun, but I found it easy. Four Swrords was awsome, I loved working with my friend to beat it and throwing pots on his head so his screen became all black from not beaing able to see.
But the game was really short. ![]()

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Seeing as I've only played 2 of those games (lol), I'd be inclined to pick Link's Awakening honestly. Minish Cap is a great game, but not quite as good as the classics.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Easily Link's Awakening. It was the game that introduced me to the franchise, and it holds a special place in my heart. I just managed to get my hands on a copy, since the one I originally played was my friend's, but today I found a copy at a local EBgames and you wouldn't believe how ecstatic I was! My Zelda collection is, at last, complete...

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
I liked both OoS and OoA, because of their connectability, but OoS had better dungeons.

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Really hard...
LA was my first zelda on GB, but Ages was really fun... and Minish Cap was just amazing, though short cricky, i cant choose.....errrr ill just go with the minish, as it was quite new, you know; minish world, great graphics, music is mild/average (though i usually have GB games' volume on OFF...) and i like the idea of learning moves and having a mirror shield/light arrows they rock.~Kaenryu |

Re: Best Handheld Zelda.
Definitely my fav is Link's Awakening. I even had a web site for it back in the day. Might even re-upload it if i ever find time for it. Then comes oracle of ages and then minish cap. OoA was cool of the two worlds and the difference between the two was quite noticeable and so you needed to play around with the different times. It just had that classic aLttP feel that I love. Only thing I hated was that there were no p-boots, only seeds. Minish cap comes in third only because I didn't like boss fights where you switch between big and small. That was plain stupid. On top of that, as others have said, the dungeons were way too easy. Nothing I couldn't easily figure out. I swear zelda games are getting easier and easier (but that discussion would take up a much larger post to explain). At least in aLttP and LA there were many bombable walls where their weren't two lamps giving it away! Oracle of seasons comes fourth cause it just felt all wrong for the zelda series. The graphics were cheesier than any of the other games (particularly some of the monsters and subrosian world). Finally, Four Swords, mainly because I could never find 4 people to play the damn game.
Still out of all the zeldas, its a tie between aLttP and LA. There's just something about 2D games that you don't get with 3D gaems that are simply fun |
