Humans
Many of you who have played The Minish Cap have noticed that the Minish call Hylians Humans. You probably think it was just a translation error, but I don't think so. I think that the producers meant to have the Minish call you humans, because I think that Hylians, Gerudo, Sheikiah, and Kokiri are all Humans. Besides, doesn't Zelda call Ganondorf a man in OoT. I've even seen people on the forums call them humans. So now, I rest my case
But if someone called Link or anothe Hylian an elf, then I'd be mad ![]()

Re: Humans
^ Link is Hylian. Most of the other people are just boring old Hyrulians.
Anyway. I didn't even notice that they were calling them humans until people were complaining about it. Who cares? They're close to human. In fact, if I'm correct, Hyrulians are a lot like humans, Hylians just have those pointy ears.

Re: Humans
The word "human" has never been used in any Zelda game... except the ones that Capcom developed. Namely the Oracles and tMC. I view it as an aberration.

I'm going with the oversight that l-o-s suggested. The Wind Waker didn't actually use the word "human" from what I remember, but since Hyrule is all but lost then, I think it's safe to assume they refer to themselves as humans. Great Seaians doesn't really work. |

Re: Humans
In the Oracles I'd assumed the Labrynnians and Holodrumians were called humans because they had round ears and weren't from the kingdom of Hyrule, so they weren't of the Hylian race.

Re: Humans
It usually only appears in Capcom made games, and those games can't be treated as games that maintain everything in the Zelda Universe.
In TWW, I don't think they refer to themselves as Humans, just as people. Notice that Quill doesn't address them by a specific race, he just says Girls with pointy ears. Hylians would be correct term I think. It is one of Capcom's fiddly mistakes I think.

Re: Humans
This goes in relation with one of my current threads. If they are humans, than Hyrule is only a country, not the world. I Hylians ae mostly in games that feature Hyrule anyway... sept this one

Re: Humans
They're probably reffered to as humans because they are normal people. By normal, I mean they grow old, don't live underwater, don't eat rocks, and are more than a few millimetres in height. They're boring.
