Wind waker remake for 3DS

Who likes the idea? More importantly, can the 3DS handle it? I certainly think it could. Its able to handle a Oot with suped-up graphics so why not wind waker with regular graphics?

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

I don't really think Wind Waker needs a re-make to be honest, until we get the Wii U at least.

I've never played the Wind Waker so I'm in full favor of this.

Nononononono. No more Zelda remakes. Only new ones. What's the point of remaking it anyway?

I can see this happening. Though, I think that Nintendo should wait a while to remake it.

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

I think WW is fine as is. When the 1st gen Pokemon games were revamped, the graphics and such were very outdated. WW still holds it's own.

I agree.

The only plausible remake for the Wind Waker would be a suped up Zelda game with more complex graphics, similar game-play, a more serious setting, and all of the things that made TWW great, replaced with all of the things that made OoT great..

What I'm saying is, imagine TWW with TP graphics and a more dark and serious theme... like from MM. Personally I think it would be kind of cool, but as long as they did a good job of differentiating this new remake from the old one.

As for the 3DS... forget it. I think the thing sucks personally. It hasn't even had it's own original Zelda title yet. Maybe once it gets that, I'll like it.

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

It wouldn't really be a remake as I don't think the 3DS can handle graphics much better than TWW. If they changed the story purists would be annoyed and it wouldn't really be TWW anymore. I'm sue it'll come to the Wii U's VC at some time.

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

I made a thread on this in Future Zelda. Go and find it.

In that thread I said that it'd just be a port and I only want it to come out in the middle of the 3DS's lifespan.

I don't think the sailing aspect lends itself to a handheld game. Maybe if they sped it up or something.

Like...a motor instead of a sail?

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

NES-SNES-N64-GC-Wii-WiiU
GB-GBC-GBA-DS-3DS

The Wii has made ports of NES, SNES, and N64 games. Not GC because it was backwards compatible.
The 3DS has made ports of GB, GBC, and GBA games. Not DS because it was backwards compatible.

OoT has been ported three times (Master Quest, Collector's Edition, & Virtual Console) before they remade it into a 3DS game. It's been remade because it is one of the best games in video game history. tWW wasn't. Just because OoT (and possibly MM) gets a remake, that doesn't mean all Zelda games should get one as well.

If anything, tWW might get a Virtual Console port to the WiiU since it isn't able to play GC disks. But as for seeing tWW on a handheld? Hmm? I don't think that will happen for a long time.

Wind Waker is still good. No need to be remade.

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

Definitely NOT a remake. The graphics is not out of date.

But I would like to see it get ported for 3DS so I can have a chance to play it.

Its like orange juice once you get a bit you want more

I personally think they should make a remake of every game up to TP and include OoT3D in a large collectors edition. The 3DS game cartridges can handle a whole crapload of space 12gigs about 10 times a regular DS game also the 3DS has the capabilities for better than gamecube graphics the 3D just makes the framerate go down I'm all for it then it should get a new game.

Re: Wind waker remake for 3DS

I love The Wind Waker and I'd love to have every Zelda game in a portable format for my enjoyment, but I don't think we need to remake every Zelda game for the 3DS just because we can. I'd rather them include Gamecube games on the WiiU virtual console and sell it to me there.

What's the need of a WW remake? I'm content enough getting out my Gamecube.
