3DS Water Temple

The only thing I hope they change in OoT 3DS is the part where you go past
the vortexes underwater, anytime I got past it was purely by luck. No technique
that I could think of seemed to help. Swimming was the worst and the iron boots
only barely manage to keep you out of the vortex, while almost never giving you
the footing to climb away from the vortex. Is there a trick to getting past the
vortexes in the original OoT? And do you think this has been changed in the 3DS version?

I never used the Iron Boots in the vortex room apart from to get the Gold Skulltula. Just swim right up against the wall and you will be fine, at least that's how i did it anyway.

I really did not find that part all that difficult to pass. I used a combination of swimming & Iron Boots to make it past the whirlpools, using the Hookshot to briefly stop for the Gold Skulltula.

I personally don't think they should change it; I found it very amusing. Definitely one of the better (more interesting and fun) Gold Skulltulas you can get.

I agree, but you have to stop in just the right place to get it without being sucked in (which is also amusing).

I would be a bit upset if they easified that part, it was a huge room and a good break from the weirdness of the rest of the temple. It took me forever to figure out the best way to do it, but once you do it becomes simple.

Combination of the boots and swimming (stopping for the skulltulla of course). You can also just swim directly through it all and usually be okay. Just gotta be good on the controls.

They haven't changed anything except color coded a few doors.
