Minish Cap any good?

Thinking about getting it. Only Zelda game I Haven't beaten nor even played. Am I missing out?

A very good 2D Zelda, definitely worth playing. I was certainly impressed back when I first played through it.

It's arguably the best handheld Zelda. It's my second favorite Zelda game in the entire series. It has a great story and plenty of stuff to do in it. I would definitely recommend it. It one of the overlooked treasures in the series.

I haven't played this game in years, but it's totally worth it. One of my favorites Zelda's on the handheld systems. And the graphics were pretty damn good

It's definately worth playing. If you can't get yourself a copy then a rom isn't hard to get, although playing it on GBA is a heap better. The storyline is great, the dungeons are fun but not too hard, the side quests are pretty and the bosses are fantastic, gyorg pair and Vaati especially.

Yes, you are missing out if you have not played TMC.

Yes you should get it. It's the best handheld Zelda there is, IMO.

It's not even a competition, TMC is the best handheld Zelda game and the best 2D Zelda game. Anyone who says otherwise only do so because of nostalgia.

It should be noted that I haven't played LA yet but honestly - better than TMC? No way.

I knew I should have gotten Minish Cap back in the days of elementary school!!! Now judging by what everyone is saying here... I missed out... now I have to track down a copy for myself somewhere....
at a yard sale, flea market or online -_-

I thought it was a cute little game to get us through the agonizingly long wait for the real big Zelda games.

many stores have pre-owned GBA games, or they're around 20USD on ebay.

Depends if you count ALttP as a GBA game. If so, it would definately rival TMC.

If Minish Cap was the only gba game there was, it would still be worth getting one just to play this game. You are missing out, so buy it. **** roms, get the real deal. It's worth it.

You gotta admit though, playing pokemon red/blue on an emulator with uber fast speeds is pretty cool for a while.

Totally agree though, get the real deal, I'm sure ebay can help.

hey, I'd buy a 3ds just to play LA. I guess I'd have to get Ocarina then.....that might factor into it XD

Nah, some roms are alright, they're usually lacking. If you are going to emulate it I'd recommend it on a psp if possible. This game deserves the best possible experience, no ****.

As for Pokemon, I can't even make myself play the original ones on my GBA. I hate the feeling of training Pokemon for "nothing" haha. If I'm going to bother, it's going to be on my newer ones.

haha I can't say I'll be getting black and/or white, but I had fun with the first two gens before i got into Zelda at about 11 or 12. Majora's Mask was my first, I didn't beat it until I beat Ocarina after I found it at cashies 2 or 3 years later. But I always credit Zelda as the inspiration for pokemon, shigeru miyamoto even worked on the originals. It's kinda like Zelda for little kids I guess.

As I said in the very post you quoted, TMC is also the best 2D game.

ALttP has a better story in the sense that it really connects the backstory to the in-game story. I'd also say the bosses were better designer and the game overall was a bigger challenge. That being said, TMC plays a lot better, Link controls smoother, has a variety of effective and fun swords moves that allows for a bigger variety of enemies etc. Castle Town in TMC felt a lot more alive than Kakariko Village in ALttP which really lacks all the different characters in TMC (even though many of them were cameos).

A lot of this can of course be explained by the simple fact that while ALttP really struck new ground with many of its designs, TMC already had so much to build on, so you could say that ALttP was the bigger accomplishment and I'd agree with that. When you compare the two games side by side there's no contest though that TMC is the better game and gives the user a better gaming experience.

Pretty much this.

Minish Cap is easily my favourite 2D Zelda. Plus the Kinstone stuff at the end is kinda enjoyable.
