Different artists probably. The DX version didn't come out until a while after the original.

5 years to be exact (1993-1998) but still you would think they would change the opening sequence.

Re: Why does link change his image?

Well, Link is obviously a magical little fairy boy.

But in all seriousness, it's different art-styles, just for the sake of it. I guess they didn't bother to change the remake's intro because it was fine as is. The Camera is just a cute little add-on.

I mean, this is kinda like asking why WW link looks different from TP or OOT link. In reality of itself? They look the same, it's just for us, as gamers, from a game's viewpoint, it's a different art-style.

TL-DR, in their reality they look the same, to us they look different due to it being a game with art-styles.

Sounds like a lot of trouble and it would reduce the effect of the full color start screen after watching the intro in all its green glory.

I suppose just seems a little sloppy by nintendo. and thanks to link changing to this cartoony figure I built a timeline with that as part of my argument only to find out that nintendo had actually made statements to tell us where this went which totally messed it all up.
