Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Okayyyy dunno if this is a neglected thread but whatever, I'm so mad it's not even funny.

The ****ing trains in the Dark Realm in ST...WHAT. THE. HELL. I cannot beat them. I just...cannot. Does anyone else hate them as much as I do? I want to throw my DS at the wall.

In ST, the ocean temple, in one of the rooms connected to the room where you get the whip, the room that has the tombstone that reads there are three of those wooden whip connecting thingies above you and tells you to hook onto the one farthest from you, how is that possible?

To be clear, are you talking about this one?

No. In Whittleton, there is an abundance of leaf piles scattered around the northern section. Equip the Whirlwind and blow them apart to uncover treasures, such as the mentioned Demon Fossils. At Forest's General Store, you are able to sell any treasures you manage to discover for 100 Rupees each.

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Could someone give me a subtle hint as to what I must do to progress in Minish Cap? I don't want to use a walkthrough already...

I've finished the first temple and heading north to Mt. Crenel, but I can't climb it. This decu scrub at the base (had to blow up a wall to get to him) tells me I need to see his buddy in the southern part of Trilby highlands, but can't seem to go there, either. Kinda stuck already

EDIT: SCRATCH THIS - just figured it out :]

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

In Oracle of Ages, is there any way to get specific rings? Or are they all random. I keep getting repeats of the common ones and there is still a ton of them I need to get all of them, even though I am close to the end of the game.

Edit: I found the Ring Guide here, so I guess I should revise my question:

Do I need to play through the game 4 times in order to get all 64 rings, or can I get them all in a play-through of one game of Ages and Seasons each?

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

You pick up the item and instead of going to the shop owner to pay for it, you just walk out. I dont recommend doing that because it changes your name to THIEF and every time you go back into the shop, shop guy kills you instantly.

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Pick up the item you want to steal (in most cases, this would be the Bow) walk around the Shop Keeper, and then when he's not looking, run for the door.

There are consequences to this action though:
1. If you EVER go back into the shop, the Shop Keeper will automatically kill you (I guess this is Miyamoto's way of teaching kids not to shoplift)
2. Your file name will be changed to "THIEF", and everybody will call you as such for the remainder of the game.
3. You will not be able to play a perfect game (where you see Marin as a seagull) because you have died.

I had a friend tell me already, but thanks. (and i saved and quit before i went back in there, so my name is not "THIEF", the owner was as happy as ever after i continued once he killed me, and i haven't talked to anyone after that, i just kept stealing bombs ... plus, why is Marin a seagull after you shoplift?)

I am now known as a heartless, girl-transforming, thieving bastard

Question: Do you absolutely need to get the L-2 sword in Link's Awakening to beat the Level 5 boss? Or to beat the game? I'm three seashells away from getting the sword, and it's untelling which 3 shells I have missed... GAH! x_@

Oracles Replay

In Oracle of Ages/Seasons, once you've started a playthrough with the Hero's Secret, played through both games and defeated Ganon, are you given a password for a new game at the end, or does beating a Hero's Secret playthrough end the cycle?

No, the sword is optional. You can beat the game without it.

There are 26 seashells, but you only need 20 to get the sword.

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Quick question. Does it matter if I play Oracle of Seasons or Ages first? I only have Ages and am wondering if I should go buy and play Seasons before playing Ages or does it matter?

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Okay, this is about Spirit Tracks and the Dark Ore side quest. I know that if you manage to deliver it to Linebeck III, he gives you a Force Gem which leads to Lost At Sea Station. I've used the two portals between the Fire Realm, the Snow Realm and the Forest Realm, but no matter how fast I go, there is always 4 pieces of Ore left in my Cart, 1 under the amount that Linebeck III wants!!!

This has been pissing me off for quite a while and it's the only thing that I haven't done on Spirit Tracks other than gather all the train parts. (Which is also impossible.) My brother gave me a tip that it might be to do with travelling through tunnels, as there is no sunlight to melt the Dark Ore, but I don't know if this is correct. Here is the route that I've been taking:

Oh, and can someone tell me what exactly is on Lost At Sea Station?

Re: Official Handheld Zelda Help Thread

Alright. Well, first off, your brother was right. It's pretty much impossible to make it there with 5 pieces without going through the tunnel. Once out of the tunnel, use the Warp Gate to the east of the Sand Temple. After emerging, head south and take that Warp Gate, which teleports you to a Gate just west of the Trading Post.

Hope this helps.
