Link and the Amazing Technicolor Dream-Tunic
As some of you may have heard, a glitch has been discovered in Link's Awakening DX that allows one to attain a colored tunic by killing a mass amount of monsters. I'm not sure how recently the glitch was discovered, but the YouTube Video detailing it is dated at October 17, 2009. Here's the video:
Link's Awakening DX--Color Tunics without Color Dungeon! Quote:
[EDIT] Here's an updated list with my results of messing around: 00 - Green (Link's normal tunic, NPC's/monsters/etc.) 01 - Red (Red Tunic, others) 02 - Blue (Blue Tunic, others) 03 - Heart (Also called "Damage", the palette used for the Heart item, as well as to show damage) 04 - Rupee (Also called "Dark Blue" or "Black with Blue", the palette used for the Rupee item amongst others) 05 - Item 1 (Also called "Dark Green" or "Black with Green", as it's normally used for bushes/grass; the color changes depending on your location, and what overworld items can be found there) 06 - Item 2 (Also called "Dark Purple" or "Black with Purple", this one's normally used for rocks; again, it changes depending on where you are) 07-0F - Blank (Makes you invisible) 10 - Orange (Marin's color scheme, as well as other NPC's and such) I realize this might be better suited to the Glitch sticky, but I figure if people are working on it it would be easier to have in a separate thread. |

Re: Link and the Amazing Technicolor Dream-Tunic
Okay, after messing with the ROM, I've found some info... The indexes all point to a certain color of overworld sprite, like this:
00 - Green (Link's normal tunic, NPC's/monsters/etc.) 01 - Red (Red Tunic, others) 02 - Blue (Blue Tunic, others) 03 - Heart (Also called "Damage", the palette used for the Heart item, as well as to show damage) 04 - Rupee (Also called "Dark Blue" or "Black with Blue", the palette used for the Rupee item amongst others) 05 - Item 1 (Also called "Dark Green" or "Black with Green", as it's normally used for bushes/grass; the color changes depending on your location, and what overworld items can be found there) 06 - Item 2 (Also called "Dark Purple" or "Black with Purple", this one's normally used for rocks; again, it changes depending on where you are) 07-0F - Blank (Makes you invisible) 10 - Orange (Marin's color scheme, as well as other NPC's and such) Everything after that begins to glitch up your sprite, such as having the left and right sides swapped (leaving two halves of Link separated in the middle), and things like that. From what I can tell, these are the ONLY possible colors with this glitch, as they're the bank of palettes for overworld characters and items. As stated in the first post, only up to the Rupee color scheme has been found for use with the 90th monster glitch. Hopefully we can find the rest! |
