Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

Left Trigger - Lock On
Right Trigger - Shield
Touch Pad - C button item select
A button - Roll
B button - Sword

Yeah I could see it working.

Only for MM though.

Besides, you can play the gamecube version on the wii, that's the same as getting it on VC. It'd be cool to have MM and OoT wherever you go!
exacta-ly XD

mixture of controls would be perfect, plus having it anywhere i want would be heaven XD

&if they release it on the DSi i will then by it,until then ill stick wit DS lites lol

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

I still say ALttP. The control configuration matches the SNES perfectly. It would be too difficult to play a 3D rendering with a D-pad, esspecially since you can't adjust the speed which would make certain parts of the game very difficult.

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

There are already enough ports of the n64 Zeldas out there, and we ESPECIALLY don't need a version with tacked-on DS controls. I liked Phantom Hourglass, but the N64 games are still meant to be played with a standard controller.

I don't like ALttP. I would like OOT only, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master's Bane.

Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

I would love to play Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask on DS. I think that I would buy both if they made it.

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

If they made ports worry about the not so rereleased games like LA or the Oracles. While they are at it they might as well make Mario All-Stars DS.

if they made it i thought of the best controls for it:
b:sword

a:action

x,y,&r: c buttons

l:z-target

d-pad:move

touchscreen: navi,& 1st person view

touchscreen: aim bow, boomerang, slingshot, exc.

^_^ i think that would make it perfect, and that way you get the best of OoT controls & PH controls ^_^

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

As far as I'm concerned, these two games were the two crown jewels in the Nintendo 64's crown.
Nintendo's been generous enough to devise ways of exploiting that by giving us both games on the Gamecube and then once agian on the Virtual Console.
DS ports? No thanks. Let these games rest for once.
How can the franchise move forward if it's still engrossed in reliving its OOT and MM glory days?
Let them focus on something very fresh and very new.

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

I'm waaay against this idea. Sorry, but the control scheme just wouldn't work in my opinion. Also, the games are REALLY BIG, and I mean REALLY BIG, so they might even have to remove some of the stuff from the original game for it to fit on the DS, which would be a bad idea.

I hope you know that they can make bigger games for the DS than they could for the N64...

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

I have two simple things to say.
One is Super Mario 64 DS.
Two is this.

L - L-Target
R - Sheild
A - Interact
B - Attack
X,Y - Item selects
Start - Pause
Select - Look

So the only thing missing is the third item button but no-one ever really needed that one did they?

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

N64 games should stay on consoles in my opinion because they already transferred Oot and MM twice (gamecube and wii shop channel) so i personally think those games should stay on consoles but thats just me

and its not up to me or anybody else but Nintendo so they can decide what they want to do.

Re: N64 Zelda games for Ds?

OOT and MM are some awesome games, but I'm not sure if I could enjoy either of them properly with a D-pad instead the classic joystick. If anything I'd like to see either link's awakening, or the oracle games on the DS.
