Ok, the story I'm writings takes place after WWIII. Its just background info, so it's not too important to the main plot. However, I have a few details that I need to sort out none the less.

On one side, I have the US, the European Union, South Korea and Japan. However, I can't think of a title for them. On the other side, I have China and North Korea, but I can't think of any other nations, or of a title, for that group.

Well, you could have the Knights of Good vs the Axis of Anarchy. (from The Guild, in case anyone hasn't seen it)

But seriously, I would first consider who's perspective the tale is being told from. On the States side of the pond, we call WWII belligerents Axis and Allies, though the naming could have been different from their point of view. So do you want to paint a certain side as villains or vice-versa with some nice propaganda?

And another thing to look at would be what the war was fought over. I know you said it's unimportant to your plot, but it would give some ideas for names. Was it a holy war? Fought over resources? A colossal misunderstanding? Pretty much you need to ask yourself what history would call these things, if they are indeed in the past to your characters.

The story takes place in an underground city (basically a huge fallout shelter) in the US, and the shelter contains the descendants of refugees from all the various nations of the US side of the war. So I guess it would be told from the US side, so Allies would probably be the most accurate name for that side.

As for what the war was fought over; basically, it starts as a war between North and South Korea, but then other nations become involved (kinda like how WWI started as a war between Serbia and Austria-Hungary before other countries joined in). China takes the opportunity to invade much of East Asia, so the US and EU step in to stop that.

You'll probably want to figure out the after effects of the war. Did the US and EU win, but do irrevocable damage to their economies? Did China and North Korea win and now the world is under their influence? I know you don't want to go into too much detail about the war, but this kind of background info would impact your characters' day to day lives.

Another potential ally for the China and North Korea could be Russia. I've heard there are some big deals being made between China and Russia that are bringing those two countries very close economically.

It really doesn't really matter who won. Basically, it turned into a nuclear/biological/chemical war, and about 90% of the world's population was killed, with the only survivors being those who locked themselves away in fallout shelters. Thus, none of the world's governments exist anymore, so really nobody won.

By the way, good suggestion on the Russian thing.

Hmm...sounds like the Fallout series. So in that case you would find your characters living in a kind of anarchy or local-based small governments pretending to be larger than they are, as total control and logistical ability would have been obliterated.

Though one key note in the Fallout games is that people going underground was actually a business venture, with companies expecting and preparing to profit from such a nuclear waste-laying. So are your peeps underground because they had the wits and resources to build their own shelters, or did governments have such facilities made to save as many as they could?

And if there was such a large-scale Nuclear Holocaust, then you would think that the upper levels of the earth would be uninhabitable for some time, perhaps a few decades, as acid rain and fallout continued to drift and be recycled in the atmosphere.

I'm trying to come up with a name for a terrorist group. They are rabid conspiracy theorists and I want their name to reflect that.

I was thinking of calling them the Lone Gunmen (a reference to one of the theories of the Kennedy assassination), or the Men in White (a reversal of the Men in Black; government agents who allegedly suppress UFO related information) but I'd like to hear other suggestions.

- Crimson Veil (I think this one is my fave )

I need a name for the antagonist for my story. He is a black ops agent who has no official name or background, thus he is only referred to by his rank. His job is basically to seek out and kill those who try to expose the government.

I thought of calling him the Inquisitor, but I deemed that too anachronistic. I need a title that matches with what a modern day western government would call their agents.

- Handler
- Wet-worker
- NOC (non-official cover)

You could also assign him a phonetic alphabet name, such as Echo, November, or Sierra.

I'm sure there are more/better terms out there, but that's all that comes to mind right now.
