Chapter one
Intrusion




I never really thought about how badly I hate being a princess; most people would usually give anything to be one. That’s because they don’t know what it’s like, most think that I’m happy being one. But when others see me I’m usually smiling, concealing my hatred for being royalty. My father, Arahz, the king of my tribe, Icelyn, doesn’t understand me. Even if I explain my feelings of living under a castle roof while others live in fur -tents and igloos outside the palace… But on that dreadful day of my tenth birthday, I finally understood why I hated being what I am. I was being forced into marriage by my own father, and the man who I am engaged to is an awful prince. He is devilishly handsome, but that’s just what makes his tribe, Hieryl, treat him like a god. His looks don’t fool me; I have seen his tribe. It’s extremely poor and they are running out of food and recourses. While my tribe on the other hand, are wealthy and our crops are plentiful; even though we Elves live in the cold, harsh, mountains. Even though he may look poor, I can see behind that beautiful mask of his. He takes everything away from his people, just to build his empire. I fear that I



This is the story I saved onto a flashdrive at school. I started making it... during the middle of the school year.

Airen immediately shut the book and hid it under her gigantic bed as she heard foot steps echo out in the hall. There was a loud knock on the door as she hid the quill and ink in the drawer. (Human made tools are illegal for elves; elves have their own kind of tools that are far more complex than human tools. Airen just likes using simple tools.) “Address yourself!” Airen commanded. Faint whispering could be heard outside the door, starting to grow into a more frustrated tone. Then, someone cleared their throat “The wedding gown has been delivered milady, pure Sryvian silk, just as you ordered.” The voice sounded like a man attempting to impersonate a woman. Airen was becoming very suspicious. “I need your name, and I ordered Vylnh not Sryvian!” Airen said, putting a bit too much harshness into her tone.

I suppose this is kind of my fault, as I never once said anything about it, but stories really shouldn't be posted here. I had meant for members to post their story in the main ZU writing section and then link it to us here in the Story Update Thread. However, I never once mentioned this as any kind of rule or guideline, so that's my bad. I'll add that to the rules now.
