I have basic ideas, which i need to develop before writing, but i'd like suggestions. It's set around the events of La, but at the ending, he doesn't wake the Wind Fish. He can't bring himself to wake teh dreamer, with the knowledge that the Island would dissapear. so he settles down on koholint.

That's the basic idea, but I need suggestions for how to improve it. I have ideas of where he lives etc, and it's set a few years after LA.

So this is about his life on Koholint Island post-LA?

Yeah. See, there was this thread a while back. Your Link, I think it was called. I posted abuot what i always imgaine Link as. But I always imagine LA Link. I imagined him as quite worried. Is the island real? Are the people real? If he wakes the Windfish, will the peolpe along with the island dissapear? Does he have the right to end their existence?

So my idea is sort of a what if? Link didn't wake the Windfish? He's settled down on koholint island. I have maybe, a paragraph in my mind, describining how he came to live on koholint, and the circumstances of his life on the island. If I place Link at about 13 maybe? At the start of LA, i'll have him at about 16, which is important for my story. I'll write the paragraph here I think, see what you think.

It had been 3 years since Link had washed up on the mysterious Koholint island, with it's colourful beach, and high, egg topped Mountain, the Tal Tal heights. He had set out on a quest to wake the Wind fish, a near omnipotent being, of which he knew little. Collecting the Instruments of the sirens, the neccesary items to wake the dreamer, along with his Ocarina, he had traversed the Island, in search of the eight dungeons, where in each one of the precious instruments was hidden. Over the course of his adventure, he had made friends, with the villagers of Mabe, animal village, and if he was truthful to himself, most importantly Marin. When the time came to wake the dreamer, he had found himself unable. He could not bear to see the island, with it's beautiful beach, and Mountains, and everywhere else he had come to kow so well dissapear.

He had returned to Mabe village, and settled down to life on the Island. The relationship between him and Marin had since developed from a sweet crush, to love. Normally, quiet and shy, Marin had been the only one Link could open his heart, and indeed his mouth to. From the beach, where he and Marin would spend hours swimming together, to the Animal village, where Marin would sing, accompanied by Link on his ocarina, for the denizens of animal village, Koholint island was every bit his Home as the Kingdom of Hyrule had once been.

I had to post twice for the second part of it it was too long.

Okay, I think I have a grasp on it now, and it sounds really interesting. I like how the bond between Marin and Link is heavily emphasized.

Suggestion: I guess it'll be cool to have Link questioning his sanity throughout the story as he wonders if the island really exists or not. Like, if there are some moments where he completely loses it and becomes sort of dependent on Marin could be interesting. I don't know...

Yeah. See, i figure, my idea is based a bit like off a programme I love, it's called Ashes to Ashes. Link is now faced with an agonizing decision. In the real world, his body is drifting, unconcious, and it's beggining to starve. In the dream, it's been 3 years, so obviously there's been a time difference. So now Link must choose between the life he loves, and the lifehe's losing.

Course, the nightmares'll be coming in somewhere.

A LA fanfic *WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA*!! There are *WAY TOO MANY OOT & MM FANFICS OUT THERE AS OPPOSED TO FANFICS FOR OTHER GAMES*!!

(Not that I'm complaining about there being some of those fanfics around)...
