I've discovered a wonderful new rock band called Dredg. No gimmicks, just straight up rock. They're amazing in everyway.

Broadway Calls. I'd say everyone who has posted in this thread would probably enjoy them on some level. Their cover of "A Rush and a Push and the Land is Ours" is phenominal, and their own material is quite good too. Their new record is apparently amazing, but I haven't given it a listen yet.

I suppose I'll also mention that I totally get the hype that was around Jack's Mannequin when the first record came out in 2005 now that I've heard it. At first I couldn't believe that the dude from Something Corporate could write a record that so many people loved on such a deep level, but I totally understand now.

You guys should go check out a rapper named Blu. Particularly the song "The World Is (Below The Heavens)". You might not like it. Blu's style of rap is certainly different, but I love the guy.

I went to see The Fall of Troy in concert the other night and saw a wonderful band there. The Dear Hunter. They were a little more mature than the bands they were on tour with, and much more in tune with soul. They opened with this a capella gem, and after executing it flawlessly, they played some great music, case in point, their closing number, He Said He Had a Story.

The Dear Hunter has been one of my top recommended artists on last.fm for ages, but I've never listened to them (other than hearing Casey Crescenzo on one of the Razia's Shadow tracks).
