Well if you're going to be heals I can always start as a Taru BLM. I can do WHM later on if I like.

I was a Taru BLM in Final Fantasy XI (called Rintude!) with the intentions of becoming a Summoner/BLM when I got strong enough. Unfortunately, I only got to about LVL 16 before I stopped playing due to the life suck. I hope XIV is a lot easier to level in, that it doesn't take forever just to gain one level.

That's another thing they need to fix! There was a hilarious quote of truth on Heretic Gamer:

Seriously, this drove me ****ing nuts. There were so many times (one time in particular I needed literally one more kill) where I was so close to leveling, then I would die at the last minute and have to grind for an hour just to get back to where I was. It's a really, really dumb mechanic. I hope they scrap it in XIV.

Also, very nice name! I was called Akia and also wanted to be a SMN/BLM, but people kept calling me a noob or whatever for not being SMN/WHM.

Leveling was so frustrating in XI. I had gotten to level 15 or something like that, and once 16, like three times, just to go out and get killed like three times in a row, sending me back down to ~level 14. The penalty for dieing should be a lot smaller in XI. That, or make it somewhat easier to level.

I personally like the punishment for dying in WoW. All that happens is (if you choose to respawn instantly) is that your equipment is damaged by 50% and your stats are all lowered by about 75% or something for 10 minutes. When you think about it, minus the cost your repairing your high level stuff, that's pretty great.

I've got to say, deleveling is probably the most frustrating idea to ever be implemented into an MMO. But really, I have no doubt this won't be the case with XIV. They can't fall into that same pitfall twice.

In FFXI I was a hume.. I switched jobs like every week. The main ones I played were MNK, DRG, PLD, SAM, BLU, and WAR. But in the future I will most likely be a Hume PLD.

I never played XI, but this game looks hella interesting. I'd wanna be an Elvaan Dark Knight or Dragoon for sure.
