Lol, a "Linkshell" is an item from Final Fantasy XI, and is held by the "Shell Leader", ie the guy who's making the group. Then, you can make Linkspheres which are items in the game, that you give to other people. If they hold a Linksphere, they can talk in the Linkshell chat.
So really, there isn't a name for it yet :> A Linkshell is just basically a word for "guild", and your guild members hold a Linksphere to be a part of it. I'm assuming they're going to keep this system in XIV, since it was pretty well implemented.
NOTE: I might have been a little dusty on those names, but that's the idea of it.
