I was thinking we could list Christian books we've read that ahve really impacted our lives. And then speak about the way the book has affected your life.
The one that really impacted my life was one called "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan, which helps you grow out of luke-warm Christianity and into a passionate, love-filled, and fully devoted relationship with God.
A lukewarm Christian is someone who believes in God, but behaves like He doesn't exist. A lukewarm Christian wants to tithe and help the community, but only does so if it doesn't impinge too much on his finances or time.
Or she says she's a Christian but uses foul language, and asks questions like, "Is it ok to have sex with my boyfriend if I bring him to church the next day?"
I don;t see anywhere in the Bible where that would be ok.
A "luke warm" is a poser, basically. If you looked their lives, they don't really show that they are after the heart of God.
You probably know a lot of these kinds of people (although we shouldn't judge other Christians that have real struggles with certain sins).
This book was really intense and convicted me on a lot of things, and now I don't succumb to those temptations and have the strength to resist them through God's help, and I don't have the desire to do those things anymore.

Has anyone heard of the left behind series? Its about the rapture and second coming of Jesus. It was written by the founder of my school and old church.

I've read both. LoTR is extremely deep but Narnia has been described as allegory of the BIBLE.

All of Shakespeare's plays have a cryptic christian meaning. Mainly referring back to the reformation.

True, true. Have you seen Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio? Remember all the guns had Roman Catholic symbols on them.
So has anyone heard of the book/movie Fireproof? Its about a firefighter who is addicted to porn and his wife is thinking about cheating on him. His father makes him take this challenge that will save the marriage. His friend also tries to convince him to be a Christian.
I know it doesnt sound too much like a Christian movie/book but I always see it in the family Christian book store.
