Yu-Gi-Oh Wallpaper

So, I found this image through Google and I just could not resist making a wallpaper out of it. So I did. :3



So far, those who have seen it and given me feedback totally loved it. I thought it turned out pretty dang cool myself, but I can't please everyone.

(Oh and PLEASE DON'T bug me about render quality. I really don't care how bad or good it is. >_<)

Im not a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh anymore, buts its awesome! Its got a very good Background.

I would remove Jaden and Yusei and replace them with Jounouchi and Kaiba, but that's only because I hate the spin-offs.

Oh, btw, if anyone's not sure, from left to right: Jaden, Yugi, Yusei. They're our three Yu-Gi-Oh main heroes. :3

Dread: Joey would be awesome in there, but I loved the image the way it was. XD

It should be Joey, Yugi, and Kaiba. Duh. Not bad though.

Well sorry, I can't change the characters. I found the render the way it looks. Just without the effects and such, of course.

Joey is cooler than Jaden and Yusei, I'll agree with that. I was never a Kaiba fan though. But still, I wouldn't change any of the characters. It makes no sense. With Jaden, Yugi, and Yusei, Yu-Gi-Oh gets full representation here. Not just partial. If Jaden and Yusei were replaced with Joey and Kaiba, GX and 5D's get no say here. I can't have that. Sorry! :3

Well, they do. And I enjoyed what I've seen of both, so I love an image depicting the main hero from both as well as Yugi from the original.

render quality messes it up and those blue lines really **** up the color composition o_o
also sextip: if going for lightning, white blobs ain't the best

1. I said not to bug me about render quality.

2. I didn't just slap white blobs on there. In fact, the light isn't even white. It's a light yellow.

1. I don't care, the render quality ****s the wallpaper up. Don't let laziness or incompetence get in the way of decent wallpapers.

2. Either way, it looks bad, and you should make it good.

That first sig's lighting looks like a C4D slapped on. I don't call that good lighting. :/

And anyway, complain all you want, I'm not changing anything. I apparently did well according to the majority, and that's all I want to know.

But again, it shows how incompetent you are, as that is not the definition of 'lightning'. The 'lightning' is how different lightning sources reflect on the rest of the signature.

Why even make a thread then? You're an absolutely disgusting artist if you can't take actual useful critique. Enjoy living in your dream bubble, hopefully you won't be so *****y when you'll be just as skilled in a year just because you weren't able to take critique...

The render is terrible, and wtf is with the lighting? There's that god awful...blob of light there in the cards, then other parts of the wall are so dark you can hardly see the background.

What's with the background anyway? The dark red cloud thing is okay, but why do you need the weird out of place blue lines?


But seriously, lighting and render are the biggest problems here.

Okay, can we cool it? Some of us are stepping across the line between useful criticism, and flaming. Can we keep out personal feuds or vendettas out of this section. It's for constructive criticism, not for bashing.

Oh, and Ranil, I appreciate that you've practically had truck loads of **** dumped on you under the pretence of 'criticism' in the past, but these guys have put forward some valid points. You may not agree, or think it matter all that much, but some good advice has been put forward in this thread. I understand that this wallpaper is for personal use, and yeah, from a scrub's perspective it is a good wallpaper. However, the people in this section have (for the most part) been in the graphics scene for a while, and as a result things like low quality images, and poor lighting will seem more significant to them, as they've all made the same mistakes before.

I disagree with the way some of this criticism has been given, and if people keep being so aggressive I'll start handing out infractions, but what they're saying is valid under the cloak of trolling, and there are things that could be improved with this piece. And at the end of the day if you do post here, you are going to be told how to improve things. After all, isn't that what we're here for? To help each other improve collectively, so please be prepared to accept people's comments, because even if they seem like they're being pedantic, or aggressive for the sake of it, what they're saying can help, even if that's not what they mean by it.

First of all, I never asked for criticism. That should have been obvious when I said I wasn't going to change anything.

Second, I'm not much of a graphics artist anymore. I don't CARE how good I am, and I don't CARE about improving anymore. I just want something to look good by my standards and if I like it enough, show it off and see what others think. If they don't like it oh well, if they do, great.

So, let me get this straight. You wanted to know what people thought but not to be criticized. You basically just wanted good comments. Am I reading that correctly?

I've never liked Yu-Gi-Oh much at all, but this wallpaper is pretty neat.

I didn't like it much at first, but after checking it out a few times, its not half bad at all.

I'm sorry, but that's really not what this section is for. If you'll take a look at Lemmines sticky, it'll tell you that much.

Commenting and Criticism.

Like with the Art rules, the same rules apply here. When you make a comment make sure that it has content.

Comments such as these are unacceptable:

If you do have something worthwhile to say, say it in a sensible and dignified manner. Do not have a go at the Person or the piece, and avoid flaming all together. Do not feel you have to prove yourself, because we won't give you special Treatment. We can tell the difference between flaming and criticism.

If you post something here, expect criticism!
If you can't take it then don't post your work here. And if you receive a comment that you disagree with, that does not give you right to flame the other person. No opinion is greater then another and flaming will not prove your point.

I didn't give criticism. I gave critique. Criticism would be if I told you that the whole piece sucked without telling you why.
