Re: Transparency Test
Yeah, if the effects render didn't have so many jagged black parts as it is, the fact that it's cut off at the bottom right still makes it all look bad. And the round shape behind the text has got a lot of weird edged thingies. I think you just clicked with a hard brush over and over and lowered the opacity. I would suggest using the rounded rectangle tool. It also doesn't have to be so big, but I know you said it was just a test.

Re: Transparency Test
This looks incredibly thrown together, take more care on the little things. Or on the big things, even.
Let's see what hurts my eyes today... 1. The blob of what should've been a rounded rectangle. You took a large brush and went across. Next time, hold Shift and go back and forth over the shape a few times. This'll smooth out the edges so it doesn't have the odd lumpy effect. 2. Extra space. This computer crashes pretty easily, and it's a lot easier to travel the graphic design section when images are as small as they can be. Rather then thousands of extra pixels around an image. 3. The bottom cuts off. Always a bad thing. 4. There are random black smudges over in the bottom corner. 5. The blob behind the words cuts off at the edge. Hard edges on soft shapes look icky. Make sure to stay at least a few pixels away from the edge. 6. The blob has a shadow. But it's not a shadow. From the looks of it, you drew one blob, then didn't like it, then drew another on top of it. But it's a different length and on the wrong level. If you redo part of a work, be sure to remove the part you plan to replace first. 7. Cutting out your abstract shape. First of all, the magic wand isn't perfect. And leaves a lot of random scattered pixels. Random pixels drive me crazy. Instead, cut things out more carefully, or do them by hand using the eraser tool. Also, the edges are rough. If you set the magic wand to "Anti-allaised" or however it's spelled, it'll smooth out the edges. Overall, I don't like it much. Sorry, I'm honest. It looks like you did it all very quickly, and didn't take nearly enough care on the details.

Re: Transparency Test
Thanks for the criticism, but the point of the entire thing was just to check if it would be transparent.
I'm not a wizz with Graphics, go easy on me, still learning.
