Revitalization of the tutorial section?
I don't know about you guys, but I really think that having a nice rebirth of the tutorial section is a good idea.
I know a lot of you "graphical elitists" might want to be jumping out of your seats with your five page essays dealing with why artists should make original signatures (lol "original signatures" [except a select few]), but hear me out; I would think these would be mostly for those who are just starting out and want to learn new techniques. I think we could have a group of people volunteer (without banners, so we can weed out who actually wants to do it and who wants a shiny sticker to put on their forehead) to go out and find tutorials to bring here or create tutorials (albeit, with tutorials brought from places to here, with the creator's permission) to bring back life to the section. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any new additions in the last couple of months and it's looking a lot like a ghost town. I don't know if this idea is necessarily a good or a bright one, but oh well i dont really care

Re: Revitalization of the tutorial section?
I create tutorials when I can, but unfortunately, time and new paint techniques are both rather hard to come by. Anyways, I post in the tutorial section whenever I can.
As for the other type of tutorial, the one that teaches cookie cutter sigs, well, I never use them, so I wouldn't be able to even do as much as find them at other sites to bring them here. Overall, great idea. But I'm not going to be very helpful about it. Sorry. And good luck.

Re: Revitalization of the tutorial section?
I'm too scared of the phenomenon of 900 views and 0 replies.

Re: Revitalization of the tutorial section?
Good thinking, mz (:
I could contribute something, but I know more about sketching/colouring via PS and I don't know how helpful a tutorial that would be for people because I don't many others who make their sigs completely from scratch. I mean, I could give tips on how to colour hair/skin realistically, drawing with perspective/diverse poses, stuff like that, but I'm not sure if that would be more suited to the Art Forum rather than here. I'm not sure if that counts here? I'm afraid I don't know much else. I would really love to help, though--seeing life in all parts of this forum is a wonderful thing for me.

... .. . I think a general graphics help thread would be great also, what do you guys think? This would cut down on the clutter on the main GD forum - a place for all the "How do I...", "What's the best way to...", etc. posts. ... .. . Also, great idea mz.
