Liah VS. Paint Challenge!

So, I got myself a new tablet and I was like **** yeah, time to FINALLY do some art... and then Photoshop kept crashing D: Frustrated, I took a break from fighting with PS and browsed ZU a bit and found Esper's Ogre Paint thread here in the GD forum. It was then it hit me: since when did I become so reliant on PS and layers and an airbrush to do my digital art? I was like whoa, dude, surely I can do something without it. I then decided to challenge myself:

I would make a picture in paint with my tablet, show the full progression of it and HAD to finish it in 1 hour and 45 minutes. I don't know why I chose that time, I just did.

So, inspired by Esper's ogre and in NO WAY is any of this thought through clearly xD Tonnes of mistakes, but the point it was to create something in Paint in a short span of time (usually when I work in PS, I can take up to 6 hours working in a digital art piece. So, 1 hour and 45 minutes is like doing the lineart and base colours alone, usually).



ANYWAY, this is what happened:

Quick draft of a girl with things coming out of her head? xD:



Sketched line art over the top:



Got rid of the rough sketch (well, not perfectly, but I was on a timer, leave me alone):



Added base colours:



Added shadows:



Added in highlights (eeep, my line art is vanishing xD):



Re-did the line art since it was, like, being swallowed by the colour:



And added small details! Voila, pic is complete!:





Total time: 1 hour and 32 minutes. I then looked at what I had done and laughed at all the silly mistakes I made under pressure xD and decided to have a little fun:







So, yeah! That was my Paint adventure and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Like I said earlier, by no means is this pic perfect, but IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TIME, MAN, and how much you can do in a programme like Paint (and now to go try and fix my PS grrrrrrrr)

Taking this challenge helped me lose 30 kgs, get off drugs, volunteer at an orphanage and adopt a kitten. It changed my life. So, with all my heart I have to say...

Anyone else feel like trying to make something in Paint? xD I'd love to see what people come up with!
