There are only four entries, it can't take this long. I understand that you have a lot of other stuff to do with your time, but you can just tell us who wins. ._. At this point, we should have a winner.

Okay, if this thing isn't decided by Monday, someone else needs to declare the winner. This is really stupid. We need a winner by now.

Hey, it's not my fault I'm the only judge in a tournament on an inactive board. I'm still working on it.

Right now, I'm pissed off enough just to say "screw it" and not give a crap about this tournament. I have a life, and I've been busy. So,

And being the "only judge" isn't that much of a burden; considering that this is just an online competition and you were given extended amounts of time to judge it. =\

Will, I've had up to here with your crap. There's a reason why I was taking so long, and I have half a mind to disqualify you from my judging. I said I would have it today, and yet you further have to gum your lips at me. Your comment wasn't appreciative either, Lurrre!. It's not my fault you did a poor job setting this thing up. I was trying to make something good out of this instead of a small bit of text, but if you want to be whelps about it, I'll just paste what I have so far...


Venemous Ninja

Lighting: 5/10

I couldn't really tell what was lighted and what was not.


Detail: 3/10

Sorry, just looks very guck. I can't even tell what it is. It looks very poor in its original magnification.

Creativity: 6/10

Whatever it is, it's certainly creative. This was your strongest point.

Fluidity: 3/10

The sprite seems to be doing things that sprites wouldn't. Looks more like a tangle of weeds than an actual sprite figure.

Believability: 2/10

If I hadn't have known this was a sprite beforehand, I wouldn't have known what to think of it. No offense, but it looks more like a bunch of random pixels than it does a figure.

Total: 18/50

Judge's Notes:

All sprites should at least have a tad of realism. Since this sprite seemed to be of the 16-bit style, there could have been a whole bunch more going for it.

Lighting: 9/10

You did a very good job on the shading. ^_^

Detail: 7/10

The detail was pretty good, aside from all the jagged-ness of the borderline pixels. Also, the eyes on the first guy seem a little weird.

Creativity: 7/10

Meh, they look very bland and dull. Too many grays.

Fluidity: 5/10

Their standing poses are really good, but the uplifted arm poses are poor and looks like they were forced into that position instead of naturally.

Believability: 3/10

Sorry, but I'm going to have to seriously doc your points here. Your submition is very good, don't get me wrong, but it's not very believable as a video game sprite and looks more hand-drawn with the purpose of being in a non-sprite webcomic.

Judge's Notes: Your submition look great, but please try to submit an actual sprite next time.

Lighting: 7/10

I think you have really good lighting, but it's hard to tell since most everything is dark.

Detail: 6/10

There is such thing as too much of a good thing.You added WAY too much detail for such a small sprite, that it doesn't look very good as a result from a normal view. You kind of went overboard here.

Creativity: 9/10

When I get my face close enough to see the detail (which I shouldn't have to do), I really like the sprite's choice of clothing.

Fluidity: 7/10

I can't really imagine the sprite about to move. If he did, it would probably look rather clunky.

Believability: 9/10

Yeah, baby! Now this looks more like a sprite!

Total: 38/50

Judge's Notes: Your sprite is good, but I think you focused more on detail, which as much as you used isn't really necessary for that size of a sprite since it's hard to see anyways, instead of focusing on the fluidity of the sprite.




GoldStud

Lighting: 8/10

Very good, but I think it was too shiny in one spot and darker right next to it, instead of spread out more evenly. Other than that your shading is excellent.

Detail: 8/10

My gosh, you must have spent a lot of time on this! The detail is near perfect, and I'm proud to point out the dandelion in the back as an example. However, the screw joints look like they could use some work, the Shy Guy looks weird, and the black dots near the front of the sprite look a little sloppy. I'd have given you a 7, but the dandelion saved you.

Creativity: 10/10

You get full marks on this one. I've never seen the likes of this sprite before! Looks like you invented it! A machine that embraces nature. Bravo!

Fluidity: 6/10

I can picture the dandelion swinging around in my mind, but not that thing walking too well.

Beleivability: 8/10

I could very well see this in a Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island game. It appears to be a hybrid of those two styles. However, the way the legs are positioned...could it even walk?

Total: 40/50

Judge's Notes: A very unique sprite! Very creative! Good shading. However, it feels like it's not even finished yet.

Just sufficeth to say: Lurrre! won because he made the best sprite out of all of them, GoldStud placed second.

And about "almost" disqualifying me, don't get annoyed that people that enter a contest don't like it when the judge doesn't declare a winner in the appropriate amount of time, even more so when he said he'd do it tomorrow about 3 times.

As for the ones you did judge, I think you did accurately and picked the best people to win. Congrats winner Lurrrre! and runner-up GoldStud. And we can just be glad it's over, so you don't have to hear from me anymore.
