Oh yeah, I forgot you use the old school PS. So, maybe you would be better off saving it as .PNG. You could try increasing the brightness in PS, then when you upload it, it won't be as dark.

As for your sig (aside from the poor quality, obviously), it looks like you tried some new techniques, which I like. The lighting is good, though maybe a little bright on Zelda's face. Overall, you're really improving, good job.

Like it, Hyrule, but it needs some serious cutting down. just crop off some height.

Also, the Bg is too sharp and makes the focus all wierd. i suggest blurring the BG a tiny bit and sharpening up the render. Also, perhaps a smoother transition between grayscale and colour?

overall, nice idea.

MZ: amazing, no improvement needed.

Yamari: in some ways your going backwards. the text is awful. Dont just pentool random lines, they need soem purpose, like aiding flow. And ive seen that colour scheme a thousand times on your sigs.

What are you talking about? I don't use purple on very many sigs...unless you mean something else?

Nayru Blue: I see. I do sometimes increase the brightness in PS, but that doesn't always work, unfortunately. And yes, I was trying new things, like different pen tooling, and I was working on lighting effects. I tried Ed's tut, but I couldn't follow it. Looks like I'm screwed until I get a better version of PS.

HylianShroom. There, too, was no reason to bring that image up. [:



EEK! I <3 it. You did well mz. It describes the film completely!! Child/fairylike. The font was a great choice - being child like AND semi transparent - to tie in the goregous image of Totoro. Be very proud of that ^_______^



Whoooo. When I first saw this Hyrule144, I thought to myself, "Is he implying feeling into this signature using colour and tones?" o:
DIDCHA? Because that is what I see. Milk replenies health, especially in time of need ;], which could represent the colour being 'restored' around Link from the dul tones of dun dun DUN - DEATH.

The signature is good without text, because I think with it, could close the wide door of interpreation. Too much blurr on the Link image though. Makes him fade slightly into the background.

This was done a while ago (last Christmas actually). I did for the secret santa present for drj (I believe?).
I used two images; and those 'whispy' bits were done with brushes. Lady Knives and Myself <3 brushes ;}

In a way. I didn't really think of the milk stuff, but yeah. More of a good conquers evil sorta thing. Link and the color being good, conquering the evil (grey).

Well duh. But give me tips on WHAT ELSE I could do for a change. And you didn't give me any constructive criticism. All I saw was this is terrible and there's too much of that, and nothing that gave me any idea of how I can improve. But you don't have to give me any ideas because I got some from Ed's tut. :]

there's too much of that, and nothing that gave me any idea of how I can improve.

reduce the amount of THAT (whatever it is)

People dont always have to tell you exactly what to do to help you.

Anyway i constructively criticised your work.

Samus: damn you. and i assure you the image was necessary.

Anyway, the sig. Its nice, though id like to see te coloured bit saturated more to contrast the desaturated part more. Also, the brushes seem like they should be sharper, as they are over the top of the sig, at the front if you will.

overall, nice, sleek and stylish.

Yeah, and then what? Leave the sig as it is? Honestly, I mean what else can I do to replace the things I take out? That's what kind of crit I'm looking for.

things dont always need replacing, thats the thing. Sometimes stuff just needs to go and saty gone and leave that space empty...like if a sig is too crowded. For instance your text on the zelda one, just take it out.

Well, I decided to redo the sig all together, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Samus: I like it a lot. The swirls look great and the background is very nice. The only thing I would suggest is to erase the swirls over the girl's cheek. They look tacky there. Other than that, good job. :]

I thought I'd try saving it as .bmp since Photobucket takes that too, but when I uploaded it, it automatically changed to .jpg. Strange, yet the sig looks just the way it did in PS 5.0. Also, I used parts of Ed's tut to do it and imitated the gradient map effect by messing with the eraser on gradients I put on. I don't know why I didn't think of doing that before.

This is more inspired and creative than a lot of your sigs - there are more elements, more colors, etc. Keep trying things like this. It may be a tad too bright on her face, but I like it, great job.

lol, I have actually wanted to develop a style as good as Ed's. I can tell you that imitating a gradient map in PS 5.0 was a challenge in itself. Erasing here...erasing there...

I should make a tut on how to imitate the gradient effect like that in older versions of PS!

Nayru Blue: Thank you. I really liked that clipping mask effect in the tut, so I plan to use it in many different ways than just what I did in that sig. I'll try to work on lighting as well, thanks for the advice. :]

Stony, just to put into perspective the fact that you post way more sigs than anyone else, I use 20 PostsPerPage and you've got 2 sigs up here on 2 pages, and the only other person to do that is Shroom (and hes only just posting now).

Anyways Shroom, Its a good sig. Get rid of the splatter brushes in the back, they dont really add anything to the sig and distract the flow. The synbol thingie in the middle is sweet.

Nice signature.

2. I can see where you're coming from, however since I use 15 posts per page, it doesn't look that way to me. Besides, I wasn't going to post another sig for at least a couple days or so.

Shroom: Very nice sig, however I don't see the point of that symbol in the middle. And like Moop said, get rid of those splatter brushes in the background. It distracts from the flow.
