Graphics Clash: Weekly 1 on 1 Graphics Competitions

OMG WHAT IS THIS:

Hiya! What is this, you ask? This is Graphics Clash, a weekly (or maybe not lol) graphics competition. Each week a fight to the death friendly competition between two gfx'ers is organized, at random (unless requested). There may or may not be a theme each week, maybe a size requirement--random, okay? This makes it so that it's not predictable what we do.

Why is this happening, you ask? Two reasons, mainly. One is to have more fun events happening within the GD. After our team competitions kinda died off, we needed something our own, separate from the SotW to keep this individual forum lively. The second reason is that we have some great graphics peeps here who haven't been very active recently. If we can get them to compete in just one clash, maybe, just maybe they'll come back and produce more ahmazin' graphics for us to stare at.

COOL; HOW DOES IT WORK?:

As I said above, every week [or so] a clash will be organized. The participants will each be given a date to have their signature in by so that a thread can be made for their battle. Contestants will need to have their graphic submitted to me via PM or Skype by the day the clash is posted. As the clashes will be weekly, generally the day will be the same each week, however if something happens and the plan gets stalled, the contestants will be notified and the clashes will happen on that day every week until the next stall (which hopefully won't ever happen).

Each thread will have a poll, so that voting can be done in the same thread. We want this to be as fair as possible, so if we catch anyone going around anywhere on the forums asking people to vote for them, their posts will be deleted. If the community vote ends up being more of a popularity contest than a fair thing, we'll establish a new way of ensuring that this is fair.

But generally, it's all on you. Just don't be a dick, vote for who you think has made the best sig/graphic, not who your best friend is.

After a week has passed (and possibly the next thread is being made), we'll announce the winner in this thread, and add it to the list of winners to be remembered FOREVER.

Winners will get medals to put in their signature space if they want. If they choose not to (or if they do), the medal they've won will be put beside their name in the list of winners so we can see how many times they've won, etc.

It's all random, so if I think of a person who hasn't ever gone/hasn't gone in a while, I'll contact them and see if they wanna do it.

So is it like a sig thing?

Or just graphics in general?

Graphics in general. May be a sig, may be something as off-kilter as an album artwork for someone's single. Might have a size requirement, might not. Might have a theme, might not. It's really just random graphics that are placed beside each other and voted on.

This looks fun.

Since it's random, you might get put up against someone that you'd win against, and who knows, even if it's an intimidating opponent you might happen to make a sig that's better than the one he/she makes. :3
