[Showcase] Vengeance's Graphic Showcase

hey everyone, im fairly new to GD, and would like to share what litle skill i have with the community here on ZU. Below, i have 3 sigs for skyward sword. feel free to take one, and you dont have to give credit, cause my name is in the sig already. all i ask is that you post a comment if you decide you want one. If enough people ask, or i feel up to it, (whichever comes first) ill make sigs for other zelda games.

I notice that your main effect is plasma; it might be useful to branch out and include more effects in your sig.

Looking for C4D's helps a lot, too; I don't use them often since they aren't my thing, but finding one can definitely help bring out a work of it.

Your images also look... I dunno, dimmed? I don't like how the effect looks so much like your looking into a foggy mirror. If you'd like, I could hook up with you and show you some things that might help to bring out the images a bit more.

The first one is probably my favorite, though; I like effect on the right side of the image. It's a little different, and I like that about it.


Another thing you might wanna do is use different renders, but since this was supposed to be about SS I'm not gonna complain.

Anyways, I'm going to give you a piece of advice that really helped me out when I was just- well, I still am,- getting started:

Just keep practicing. That's probably going to be the best thing for you, and it'll help you find more effects. Not to mention you'll be to explore and refine your own style of sig making.

yea, its wierd, but i like the foggy mirror effect. ill show you how i did the effect you like if you want, its pretty simple

Oh, I know how you did it.

It might be useful to ask a mod to change the title of the thread and use this as a general showcase for your things, that way people like me can see you improve and give you tips on how to improve further.

Much like me thread here. It's up to you, though.




I noticed something in your first image; text. The top text seems a bit out of place, and it bugs me a bit. I'll show you how to make your text blend better (your name blends fine; it's mainly the first one that bugs me) and show you some custom fonts to download when we talk next week. :3

I think this one is probably your best so far. Again, the text looks a tiny bit out of place, but I'll help you with that come Saturday.

I have to say, though; I love the effect on Sephiroth. Was that already o the image, or did you add it in?

that is its own C4d actually, i added it in to cover up the straight edges, turned out good so far.
didnt have to worry about cloud, the only straight edge on him was at the bottom, so i put him on the bottom

What's the problem with straight edges?

i just like things to blend, it looked like i put a picture on a background,and the picture was cut. i like them, but not there.

so i got bored and made a new sig for TP. looks alright,, but a rush job.

Oooh, I love this. You are definitely improving. Keep it up.

A couple problems, however:

Text: It blends in well, but the color seems a little off. It just seems... I dunno. Faded? I think it would have come out better if it were overlayed over the green you used, or given a darker color. Dark green, for example, would have worked well with the signature.

Wolf Link: Flow-wise, he bothers me. I don't like how everything looks as if it's facing left. I think it would have turned out better if he would have been flipped to face Link; add in something to focus on the Triforce in the center. His left foot is also cut off.

Border: Just me being nitpicky, really. Since there isn't a border, and everything flows left, I tend to float off of the sig and onto the area left of it. lol

Floating: Both Link's look as if they are floating.. Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing; sometimes things look cool floating. It's just that it's so random. Bringing them down to the edge of the signature would have fixed this. Just me being nitpicky again, though.

Over all, I'd probably give this a 7/10. Good job. :3

made this one for a buddy on a gaming clan forum. TAG is the name of the clan, thats why it says TAG before his name, which is Apple lol

The text seems forced, and I would rather the grids be a darker color.

Other than that, I love this.

so i tried vectoring, and it turned out alright

I like that one. It seems a little too big, though... as if there were too much unneeded space.

That's 450x150, right? I think it might look better as 420x125, 600x150, or 500x130. :3 That's just my opinion, though.

Link's also a tad too dark compared to everything else. I think it would be cool to brighten him just a little. That way he doesn't contrast everything so much, since he already has a nice shade of green to begin with.

Other than that, it looks pretty cool. I like it.
