It looks to me like he took either a gradient or difference clouds,
applied a cubism filter,
applied an edge detection filter,
grayscaled/desaturated it,
and then overlayed/screened/etc. it.
He might have also used the colorize tool on it, idk.
And then with the more glassy looking shatter...
He probably had a brush that radiates from one point (you can get those really easily) and just overlayed the layer once or twice. Nothing major.
