Graphic designers! Would you like to work with a writer and an artist? If so, you should take a look at the ZU Comics Competition! Not only will it be fun, it could be great experience for a graphic design career!

Hiya guys! ;D

I'm here to let you know that I'm your new mod for this board (and for the competitions section but like everyone's a mod there lol)!

I have a few things I want to start up/revamp starting either today if possible or by tomorrow afternoon. :)

1) I want to change the SotW back to weekly instead of every other week. IGNIS had changed it to every other week because of inactivity, however it's summer now, and for the time being I want to try moving it back to weekly. It's the signature of the week, not the signature of the every other week, y'know?

2) The beauty letter has fallen through the cracks over the past month or two. The beauty letter has always been more about the visual things here in the creativity corner, so I'll be collaborating as much as I can with Vynrah, our resident artwork mod to make sure we get AMAZING stuff shoved into that little envelope. :)

3) I've already started up Designer of the Moment and Graphics Clash, so for now we're good in the way of forum-building activities. However, I do want to begin to do weekly updates specifically for the GD either in this thread or the GD Loft in the competitions section. These will let you know of new shops, showcases, and especially clashes that have been opened/are currently going on.

And remember, this is you guys' forum, not mine. If you wanna start an activity but don't wanna do it all on your own, be sure to ask me and I can help/give feedback/etc. And if you do want to start something on your own, be my guest. If it's fun and will make this forum a more fun place to be, it's all good. :)

That's currently the Graphics Convomatic, but Keith has proposed we bring back some small work showcase thing that imma study and see if we could use that instead.

i have been trying to get custom brushes to work on gimp for months

it has not worked, and it is beginning to piss me off :<

You're running gimp2.8 on Windows7, right?

Be sure you're not putting the brushes in the (x86) program files. When gimp updated they put out the 64 bit version and that's most likely what you downloaded. You can find the new program files in C:\program files\gimp (or gimp 2.8 depending on how you installed).

I'm really peeved that in the latest version of GIMP, you have to use the Export function to get anything that isn't an xcf. Ah well, not a *big* deal.

And yeah, Holden, I hate it too. I keep trying to do "Save as" ___.xcf and then do "Save as" ___.png out of habit and then huff in frustration when it doesn't work! xD
