To be honest, I've seen Alternative's work, and I think it's very plain, especially compared to yours.
Sorry for invading your thread Caleb, but I don't understand this. Would you care to explain how it's "plain"? You can't just say something without any sort of evidence or reasoning to back it up.
Anyway, Caleb, I'll just give a general critique. I don't know how to put it, but all I can really see is a C4D slapped onto a stock with overlay and some more overlayed text. It's nice for a beginner, but I know you've been doing graphics for longer than this. I look at your first signature of Samus and that's a nice start. I'd try to branch out from there and learn some more techniques. There are plenty of tutorials out there you could use to learn new skills and make your graphics even better.
Also, one thing I can suggest you do off-the-bat is sharpening the focal point. That'll take you a long way for bringing out the best in your graphics.
