I kind of forgot about my homeroom to be honest. LOL

Well, did you use a mouse for the name? Did the pen-tool tut not work for you?

I like the background and the glossy effect, that is a good technique when starting out. That's how I started. As for tutorials, I'm going to make some video tutorials to post on here and on USTREAM and YouTube, so stay tuned.

Also, what program do you use? GIMP, PS, MS?

I told you I use Paint.NET. And also I used the mouse.

It's good, I started out with similar signatures. It's a bit too vivid and bright, though I'm sure that was the effect you were going for. You want your signatures to bring out or emphasis your topic. So in this case, curious george should be the main focus of your signature. Right now it just looks like he's thrown in there.
