Are there any particular tutorials that you would recommend?

Just do some basic tutorials. I would recommend some really good ones, but they are for people who are more experienced.

So my XCF pack is up.

I was goofing around with some stuff on gimp (wasn't sure which tutorial to start with), and came up with this, not amazing, but IMO better than my last one

And the placement of the poe salesman is quite a bit off

And out of curiosity what are c4ds?

C4d's are shapes like this used in sig making. You get them of the internet and put parts of it in you sigs. They come in all shapes and sizes this is just one example.

Thank you, I'd been wondering about that.

Most of those hard c4ds suck. I usually use just this c4d.

Not necessarily, most tend to look good, but it depends mainly on the brightness of the sig; the lighter the better. For solid c4ds, "lighten only" is usually a better layer setting than "screen", but you can always erase anything that disturbs the flow too.

DeviantART, which personally I find to be the best resource for them, especially since you can download packs full of them.

You can also find a lot on Planetrenders.

I personally like effect c4ds the best.
