Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
Also use a really large fuzzy brush and just erase around the edges.

Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
You could always search "gimp sig tutorial" or "gimp sig" or "gimp tutorial".

Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
Here:
http://graphicforce.org/forum/1058068/ you know you can always use PS tuts and convert them to make it work in gimp, thats what I usually did with gimp.

Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
In my experience with using Gimp tuts, I've never really had one that's done me justice, so often I learn techniques from multiple tutorials, and apply them to one. Dalton is correct though, most Photoshop tuts can work in Gimp, it's a matter of finding the equivalent. Somethings are impossible to replicate though, but that goes vice versa for PS, too.

Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
Yeah, it takes forever to load. And when I try to search stuff, it takes five minutes to bring me to another page where I have to type it in again, just to have it take another five minutes to bring me to the page I want. Why did they even "upgrade"?

Re: Hyrule's Homeroom [GIMP]
Alright lets start with the easy stuff. First always use the rule of thirds for render placemant read this if you don't understand. For high quality renders use http://planetrenders.net/
Now on to you actual sig. Zelda loks really bad very fuzzy choppy and horrible lighting. The background is boring and the text doesn't add anything to the sig. Try some of the tuts on Gimptalk and post your result. Don't be discouraged by my criticism no ones first few sigs are good and you just have to stick with it. It just takes a little practice most people in this homeroom have only been using gimp for a few months and just look at some of the stuff we can do! ![]()
