Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
![]() Welcome to Frozen's Graphics School Homeroom. My aim here is to try and teach people more about Photoshop. I do not claim to be the best, but I'm happy to help. How to Apply Just post sillies! I don't bite, promise! I'd like to see anything you've made before, no matter how bad you think it is. Of course, if you've never made anything before just say so! Questions What programs will I need? Preferably Adobe Photoshop. The newer the version the better, however I have seen fantastic pieces done by people with older version, so don't worry too much. However, I will try my best to teach GIMP students. However, GIMP users, I would prefer you to use GIMPShop, simply because the layout is closer to that oh Photoshop, and therefore it will be easier for you to follow instructions. What do you teach? That depends entirely on what you already know. Generally I will be teaching the theory and practice of making Graphics, such as Signatures for use on forums. But I've never used Photoshop before! D: Never mind! Just tell me and we'll start with the basics! What will I be able to make? Hopefully with a little practice you'll be able to make stuff like this! Perhaps you'll get better than that? Who knows? Don't expect to be perfect instantly though. It takes practice. Ask any extra questions and I'll be happy to add them to this post. Students - Kiara Kensei - Hyrule - brokenjoker - Beh - Phobia - Happy Mask - BrenExplode Well, that concludes my opening post. If you think I've missed anything in here just drop me a PM. Got a question? Don't be afraid to ask. Adiós!

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Would you be willing to teach me Frozen? I have CS2 and here's some stuff I've done in the past. It's not great but I guess it's a start...
A sig I made using a bg tutorial from dA http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...tnesscop2y.png Another sig http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ilightsig2.png And another http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...redsigcopy.png I have other stuff too but don't want to overload the page with crap XD

Kiara Kensai: Sure, I'd be happy to take you on. Looking over your stuff, this is without doubt the best one. However, there are just a few bits of advice I'd like to give. Firstly, make sure, and I cannot stress this enough, that your renders are high quality. Personally, I'd recommend this website. All the images there are well cut, and high quality. It'll save you a lot of trouble in the future.
Also, how familiar are you with the locations of the Photoshop tools?

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Thanks for the tip, I used that site to find the stock I used in the sig you thought was the best.
I'm familiar with locations of most of the tools, like the ones in the left hand toolbar but there are probably some I'm still unsure of elsewhere.

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Interesting, they're generally better quality. You did save it so the background was transparent, right?
Anyway, check back tomorrow evening and I'll try and have a lesson prepared for you.♠

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Okay, got it done. I want you to read through this tutorial, and then make me anything. However, when you're creating the signature I'd like you to keep these things in mind, and try and use then where possible.
Good luck. ^-^

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Okay, it's not too bad, but there are a few things you need to work on:
1) Render placement. Don't just put the render near the edge of the signature or in the centre. Generally try and divide the signature into thirds and place things in those thirds. Also, don't think the whole render has to be included. 2) The backgrounds. Could you run through what you did for me?

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
I took this image I made a whle ago:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...alhellfire.png Cropped down to the bottom then changed the hue and so on. Then went into filters, distort and used polar coordinates a few times to get that effect.

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
Okay, first thing I'd like you to try and make a background using the render. Try using the smudge tool, or filters. It's one of the basic techniques you need to grasp.
If you need some help just say, and I'll try and find a decent tutorial for you. I don't have time to make one, I have exams tomorrow.

I have other things to show you if you'd like to look at them. Oh, and I only own Photoshop 7.0 - which is located on my laptop, which doesn't work well with internet at all, so any assignments might be a tad late. ^^;

Your text is nice, and generally you do a good job, there is nothing really terrible there, but nothing "OMFGWOW" either. Try reading and then try something else for me. :3 Quote:

Have a link. This a pretty nice one, but I want you to try and use the ideas to make your own thing, not just follow it word for word, kay? :3 If you have an idea, don't be afraid to try it etc.

Re: Frozen's Homeroom (Photoshop)
I've dabbled a bit with photoshop 5.5, and have made lots of simple things such as sigs, buttons, banners, and the like. Even made a few covers for my novel, as well as logos for my fanfiction. Mind if I drop in every now and again with questions?
![]() If you would like to see some of my work, just go to my albums and browse. The main thing that has always bugged me with PS is how the bloody hell do you simply draw a perfect circle? I've never been able to figure it out and the help file is so archaic. -_- I usually end up drawing the circle in Paint and then import it. I'm sure there is a better way, but I'm just too dense to find it. Help me plz? ![]()
